Buying amazon next week after I have enough money. Planning on hodling for +10 years. Do you think its worth it or will the crash force me to hold for 30+ years?
When do we get the leaks from the fed, and when does powell actually speak?
Wanna see if I can pick up some more SDOW if we're still pumping hard into the fed
Justin Evans
Buying Amazon with how much money?
Michael Baker
2 stocks
Connor Watson
based big money triple digit boy buying into uncertainty
I'm about to buy some anti-amazon retail stocks, now that AMZN and google are being investigated, there are a whole handful of companies whose value they crushed that might be OK short term turnarounds.
Jeremiah Collins
I'll never understand why people think it's a good idea to get in so shallow in any stock.
No it's not a good idea.
If you want capital preservation buy bonds. You aren't going to make any money on 2 shares of AMZN.
It doesn't even pay a dividend.
The best time to buy Amazon with $4k was in 1997, not now.
Joshua Carter
just like an earnings report, they usually post the bullet points right to BB terminal when he starts speaking, and release a pdf on their website at teh same time.
wow so rude he has to start somewhere AMZN is the choice that he made number of shares doesn't matter that much :p
I have around 10k in ETFs, im accumulating more every month. I just wanted to get some amazon because its future seems to be bright. My diversification would suffer in the short term but in 6 months I'll be balanced again.
I'm not planning to sell and want to live off dividends when I retire
Benjamin Stewart
Yes the number of shares matters.
This isn't a game and your feelings do not matter. At all. If your feefees get hurt over anything I just said you need to step away from the market forever.
Do you even understand how difficult it is for Amazon to gain more market cap?
The thing is $1700 per share. If it goes to $1800 it puts on BILLIONS in market cap and this guy gets a couple hundred dollars in gains.
It's a waste of your time and your money.
He would 100% be better off buying an ETF that tracks the market if he fundamentally does not understand how to make money in the market.
Chase Garcia
The future is bright for people with the money to buy it.
If you put $500k into Amazon and it goes up $100 that's like $35k profit.
You could make way better returns literally anywhere else.
The ship has sailed for AMZN.
Mason Torres
If he wants to buy two shares of amazon I'm not gonna throw a fit on an American comic book exchange website and say, "Reeeeee, you're not allowed to buy only two shares". He wants to buy AMZN, the number of shares thing shouldn't be a blocker. DOn't fill his head with all kinds of doubt on such a nice morning, let the young guy go ahead and buy his two shares of AMZN
Jacob Wright
Shut up you retarded weeaboo.
He asked for opinions and I gave mine.
I'm not going to jack his dick and whisper sweet nothings into his ear.
It's a bad idea.
Why kind of portfolio are you working with? Low four figures?
Jason Hill
plenty of the kids we have coming in here asking for advice are buying options, or going all-in on biopharma stocks. If someone wants to buy AMZN, that's perfectly all right. It will probably in crease in value over time. And if it doesn't, oh well, not the end of the world for your young protagonist.
and again again again, number of shares doesn't matter, you were very concerned that he was only buying two shares, but you never really said why it is so important...
If you post here much, you get to look really bad ideas in the face every day. Buying AMZN stock for a long term hold is a neural idea at the very worst.
hope it makes sense ;^)
Matthew Perry
Thanks both of you. I'll still buy amazon, I might have 500k of it in 10 years and the dividend will be enough return for my risk profile
Matthew Gomez
"People do stupid shit here so it's okay to do something slightly less stupid."
Weeaboo ladies and gentlemen.
It's your money.
FYI AMZN doesn't pay a dividend.
Jason Lewis
not yet ;)
Jason Lopez
Dunno if any of you have any stock in $TIF but they just had a rough sales report so it might dip pretty good today
Landon White
If you want to speculate why not do it with something that's going to give you meaningful returns.
The $0.25 a year you might maybe someday get from your 2 shares of AMZN aren't going to make a meaningful contribution to your portfolio.
Noah Fisher
name one company other than Amazon that will have world domination in a couple of years
Eli Peterson
What a silly question.
1.I highly doubt Amazon would even get to that point before it got Standard Oil'd
2.That's a purely emotional question. What you want to pretend to be some hot shot oligarch owning 0.0000002% of some mega corporation?
You can go and play pretend while some of us make money. That's okay.
Evan Myers
Thanks for making this clear. I just wanted to know some opinions on Amazon as Buffett bought into it recently.
Easton Ward
>getting triggered by two (2) AMZNs >admonishing somebody else about feelings kek this is some weird hormonal b8posting
Samuel Mitchell
>Triggered.
What did you flip your modem off to change your ID, weeb?
Simmer down, adults are talking.
No problem. Good luck in your future endeavors.
Alexander Sanchez
That other poster is not me, but my ID did change, I’m at work now ;)
How am I supposed to tell the guy that signs the cheques that I shorted bonds, which have risk, because the thought of staying in cash for seventy-two hours was giving me ADHD?
KBLB got some gewd news today desu. Get in on that cheap open before it spiky spikity spikes up today desssssssssssu. Then hodl if u liek spiders, or sell at peak a chu today
>not volatile That's the point! Fluctuates 5 to 15% on the regular
Camden Gonzalez
Nice of him to provide the cocaine gratis. I guess finance firms must have a pipeline for stimulants.
Asher Lopez
> Futures are green. What the fuck
William Myers
Fair enough.
I'm more of a trend trader if I'm not going long on fundamentals/calculated speculations.
Austin Foster
>going to be afk for an hour or so around noon because gotta pick up more weed whats the best 1 or 2 hours of the trading day to stop paying attention? lunchtime lull, or afternoon before 3pm?
yesterday was a juicy dip day, people who cant see that are apparently retarded
we've been doing this tariffs dance for a few months now (or has it been a few years now?)
Depends on your positions and if you have stop-losses set. But that's the beauty of the market - crazy shit can happen at any time and create movement.
That being said go get your sack and don't worry too much, it'll be there when you get back
Mason Lopez
Everyone is anticipating a fed cut, when they come out and sat they are raising rates instead the Bobos will rule the streets
webb-site.com/articles/trumpdump.asp >Both sides in the US-China trade war appear to be digging in for a long-term battle of ideologies - the US battling for capitalism and open markets, China battling for socialism, central planning and protectionism, baulking at the idea that it should commit to free and fair trade by opening its markets to foreign competition and ownership on a level playing field. The Chinese position is entirely to be expected, because it's right there in the PRC Constitution: >"7. The State-owned economy, namely, the socialist economy under ownership by the whole people, is the leading force in the national economy. The State ensures the consolidation and growth of the State-owned economy." And although the constitution since a 2004 amendment allows for the private sector, it is very much an appendage to the state-led approach: >"11. The non-public sectors of the economy such as the individual and private sectors of the economy, operating within the limits prescribed by law, constitute an important component of the socialist market economy. >The State protects the lawful rights and interests of the non-public sectors of the economy such as the individual and private sectors of the economy. The State encourages, supports and guides the development of the non-public sectors of the economy and, in accordance with law, exercises supervision and control over the non-public sectors of the economy."
Samuel Adams
idk user, Trump's policies seem pretty protectionist to me
Sebastian Jones
They're open to states which are also open, or at least more open than China.
Asher Baker
when are we getting negative fed rates? read somewhere that that's the only way boomer houses will retain their value until they sell and ruin value of the dollar
Ian Cooper
WOOOT ME RICH SUCK IT ALL NOOBS WHO TELL ME NO BUY 2730
Hopefully never. Negative rates would make us like Europe, which is something no American should ever desire.
Adam Fisher
Looks like today's gonna be a green day, boys.
Adam Martinez
I'm thinking about shorting Hawaiian Airlines (HA) because I work as a hotel manager in Waikiki and holy fucking shit incoming guest numbers have plummeted through the roof every single month so far compared to last year. This May visitor numbers were down 11% and for June we're projecting 15% EOM and this is the beginning of the summer vacation season mind you. There's also the issue of Southwest Airlines which caused HA to crash a few months back when they announced low cost flights directly to Hawaii. And they still have yet to announce a lot more interisland flights which I suspect will bring down their price even more. People in Hawaii really, really hate the price gouging that HA had with their interisland monopoly. My only concerns are that it has a P/E of 5.386 which is pretty low compared to other airline stocks already, so there might not be much room to go down. And the other concern is that all other airline stocks are in a downtrend so maybe I'm not seeing the bigger picture with my DD here.

>tfw too smart to fall for the bull trap
Adrian Butler
It don't mater if you got 1 share or 1000, the fact you've started is enough. Sides suppose you buy 100 shares of Amazon and the price drops by half the next day. Well you've just lost half your investment money. The loss would be less if you had less shares. The way the market is acting now starting small is a smart play.
Daniel Howard
yes daddy federal reserve keep this zombie fucking going. Yes china, more "social financing" Yes Japan keep buying up ETFs and bonds! Yes Europe make those rates even more negative!
even fucking south africa is calling for QE. this whole system is busted.
Alexander Parker
Green open at least
Blake Hill
relief rally back to 280
Colton Anderson
Just based off preliminary DD I do before combing over a company it looks like a buy to me, not a short.
value investing has been dead since the dot com boom, BRK can't even beat the indexes now
Nolan Powell
China has just warned its citizens not to travel to the US. The market is up on hopes that Trump won’t enact tariffs on Mexico. Which is absolutely retarded lol
Brandon Martinez
june 10 is the first 5% tariff on Mexico right?
Ian Stewart
I'm going to take this opportunity to remind everybody that nothing happened in China 30 years ago today.
Not fully baked in, but they won’t cause any obvious jumps. They’ll weigh down on the economy and thus the markets slowly and gradually. The news is priced in, the effects become more priced in over time depending on probabilities
Hudson Bell
I would like to remind everyone that Warren Buffet bought Apple at $225 a share.
Aiden Perry
Absolutely nothing happened, especially not a massacre that violated core ideals of human value and dignity.
Wyatt Howard
On this day 30 years ago, according to Wikipedia:
>The world's first HDTV broadcasts commence in Japan, in analogue.
Oof
