That's the softcap mechanism at work, you fucking imbecile. Whenever the price rises or falls too far away from $1 the 650,000,000 reserve tokens are either released or reabsorbed to peg the value of 1 LINK to $1. A price above or below that would defeat the purpose of the token. It's explained in more detail in the whitepaper if you're interested.

The security will just come as a passive nature of their value. He’s literally saying these tokens are going to be worth so much no one entity would be willing to risk that much money/would be ABLE to have enough LINK to pull off a 51% attack on an individual NODE.
Implying a node with a few thousand tokens will be worth several million dollars easily. Only large institutions would be able to pool this kind of money or very rich individuals, either way committing fraud isn’t in their interest at the point.
