This, he did not need to put someone else's business on the internet, there is a reason this person asked them in private. Although I somewhat agree with robbing the person of the experience by throwing money at them. I've asked a friend before, to borrow money, at the time I did that, he was doing exponentially better than me, i was jealous and bitter about the whole thing for a while, but I decided to take some personal responsibility and work my ass off that have a decent sized portfolio, now I have over double the amount he does, it does not feel good, but i appreciate that he did not help me out now, there is a specific attachment to my money that makes me think very carefully before i spend or trade, because I know what it took to work towards what I earned.

The rest of the post is a bit of a chastisement but its a well-deserved one. The real point of the post is in that first point and when he says "its not like I have 1B in cash". The rest is mostly bullshit, but the piece where he talks about making it on your own and paying off his credit card debt is him saying "I made it on my own with no one helping me. I did all this myself, and you can too. Don't expect a handout."
All in all its a reasonable response. He rebuffed him but also gave him some advice. Him posting it is a message to others - don't ask for handouts, make it on your own.
