Is it that bad over there? It's getting worse in London, but surprisingly here in Berlin you don't see many homeless people

In the wild, scientists assess the health of the ecosystm by examining the bodies of the bottom feeders. The principle is the same for human societies. You know something's wrong when there's a rising population of homeless people.
*unzips* I got something to feed you biche
Homelessness is a big issue in the Seattle area. The city brings in the cops to clean out encampments. Inevitably, the encampments start again once they leave.
Yeah this is kinda true. There’s homeless guys with a tiny ass sign, that I can’t even read, at stoplights all over my town. Never give them shit.
Based. I'm by no means a leftie, but everytime I visit the US for vacation/work I'm shocked by the amount of homeless/mentally ill people in the streets. It's really sad.
Automation is going to constantly encroach on people's jobs, and it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out.
People are fucking myopic, selfish idiots and every time someone who isn't them loses their job to automation they'll just say "Hey just adapt, retrain, stop complaining" because they think that their little niche will be safe from it.
But when smart contracts automate out, say, 80% of legal work and suddenly all these apartment living, bootlicking normie fucks who thought they were too white collar to lose their jobs, try and turn around and say "Oh now we should have a discussion about UBI" then it will be too late.
It's also going to be interesting in the sense that when we return to neofeudalism, where the people who own the automated factories have billions and everyone else is fighting over the plumpest rat carcasses, who the fuck buys the products the automated factories are making? The death of the middle class in the context of consumerism is an experiment that has never really been tried before.
But it might all be immaterial because at that point the Earth's biosphere will probably be collapsing and with a 90%+ drop in the planet's ability to create food we won't have much of a consumer market beyond weapons, wheat and fresh water anyway.
as an user from a wealthy european country when i lived in the usa i was shocked to see how 3rd world tier it was. rich european countries are so much more functional in every aspect. but we can't really compare small european countries with big us cities
I have never seen a woman who has model looks on the streets. I have seen men who are good looking become bums. Why is that?
Every bridge and underpass in my area has massive tent cities. Literally every intersection has beggars on each side of the roadway. And a 1200 square foot house goes for 500K
