I fucking hate large companies...

I fucking hate large companies. My partner and I are trying to run a two-man construction company and make some decent profits. We charge the standard rates or slightly below if we must, but I always get lowballed into oblivion by some faggot fucking cronies running a 200-man operation where they have a bunch of $8-10/hr uneducated peasants toiling for them so they can afford to break even or lose profits at times. I hate the fucking management of these companies for being bitch ass sharks and I hate the stupid fucking peasants who don't know how to buy some tools and go work on their own instead of being exploited by the motherfuckers in suits. Why doesn't the government do something about this shit? I thought competition was good? This isn't a fair market, it's just large players with tons of capital fucking over anyone who tries to get going. The government should break apart these companies. I hope both the retarded peasants and their suit overlords eat shit for breakfast. What option is there to compete with these people besides sabotaging their operations?

Government is the reason you're in this position.

>all the licensing and regulatory capture to start any business
>minimum wage, which actually keeps wages low because nobody competes for labor because minimum wage is considered a "fair wage" and many will work for it

>Why doesn't the government do something about this shit?
Stopped reading

Can you offer something that those big companies can't? Idk man, they just love tu bully the small guy.

get big and lobby your politicians to break big companies up
although then you'd get broken up

also consider finding leads on your own, where you won't have to bid and compete with large companies, and instead get customers coming to you directly

>$8-10/hr uneducated peasants
> I hate the stupid fucking peasants who don't know how to buy some tools and go work on their own instead of being exploited by the motherfuckers in suits

Mexicans - can't live with them, can live without them.

If you can't beat them sabotage them

I've heard 200 men crews are horrible when it comes to OSHA standards. Catch them up whenever you can.

People will pay a lot of money for guaranteed quality. If the big companies have a bad track-record, you'll do just fine with a far higher price. If your claim about $8 peasants it accurate, you're fine. If their work is actually of pretty good standard, it shows you're full of shit and just charging more for the same job a peasant can do. I've been a one-man-band for a long time and get a tonne of work while only 5 minutes from one of the worlds leading businesses in the field. Do your job properly and you'll be fine.

We lose money on the little jobs so you can never get big enough to challenge us on the big projects. Unless you figure out a way to undercut us (hint: you cant), you have no choice but to eventually give up and work for us for next to nothing.

dude i did a job in SC a while back remodeling a hotel with serious time constraints. The company that got the bid did not have a single fucking person with a social security number on their team. THEY CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS

Everyone started somewhere. Make the best out of the work you get and trust me, one day you'll be the big company pulling this same shit. This is how it works OP. The strong survive.

These "uneducated peasants" are probably taking home more than you are lmao

Where do you find these magical leads? Most of my work is through referrals and a I lose a ton of jobs because some faggot is willing to do it for a lot less, and surprise surprise it's usually a larger company or some low IQ retard who doesn't know how to do basic math.

Call DHS

>stop competing with my labor reeeeeeeeeee

min wage in mexico is $2 an hour

Literally this. You can also report them to the IRS, and this might be even more effective, because in hiring illegal immigrants they're evading payroll taxes

help build the wall. they're getting cheap labor from the million illegal aliens that come in every year
youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=1IwaZIgPXAw

Yes, that's why they come here, rent out a house split 50 ways and work for $10 an hour, sending the money back home where it's worth 20 times what it is here. They're not "doing the jobs Americans won't do for less money", they're doing the jobs Americans had always done until recently for a shit load of money relative to what they'd get back home and relative to what their local competition would be getting when accounting for costs of living and currency exchange rates.

These guys know. OP you need to fucking nail these guys however and wherever you can. Fuck them, they're the reason why the US is not where it should be economically. They're cheating and the only answer is to fuck with them every chance you get. People who hire illegals should be lined up and shot.

law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/8/1324a

Also I'd like to add that there is potential for you to possibly hire a private investigator. He can gather evidence on the competing firm's illegal activity. You then sue the firm and score a fat settlement.

>People will pay a lot of money for guaranteed quality. If the big companies have a bad track-record, you'll do just fine with a far higher price. If your claim about $8 peasants it accurate, you're fine
This
You have to get loyal repeat customers.
Also where I live the huge companies always charge more than the little guys
My father always has tons of work due to his reputation and has to refuse most of it. If only he was business minded he could be rolling in money
Then again we don't have mexicans in UK

It sounds like you cant compete

Sounds like you are uncompetitive.
If the market doesn't ask for quality your price provides, hire cheaper labour like them and expand ... Find niche... market or die off

Take the concrete pill user. I did one small driveway last week and profited 2k for 2 days work

do you need a loisence?

>What option is there to compete with these people besides sabotaging their operations?
but user you already posted the solution

How often do you have work? Do you have a website?

Of course I can't compete with powerful companies that have tons of resources, you fucking idiots. The game is rigged in their favor from the start, since they start off with much more than me and the rules (licenses, insurance reqs, etc.) all favor them. I'll land the occasional good job, but most of the time I have to deal with lowball shit. At this rate I'm going to snap and go full Killdozer one of these days.

What kind of construction jobs do you do or are you capable of doing?
Make a list, start an incognito window (you don't want your past searches to influence the searches) and search google for each one and take a note of the top results for things like "drywall mudding in london" (for each type of work and the local cities you're willing to work in).
I don't know shit about this field but if I was a small business this is the first step I would do.

Sometimes the top results will be some aggregator that lists a few "best" people for the work, in which case you want to get on top of the list. Try to get in contact with the owner and offer a 10% referral bonus for each job completed that was sent by them. Then every time you're sent someone from them, quote them an extra 10% higher.

Other times the top results will be a few specific companies, in which case your only option is to create your own website and try to rank higher. As for how this can be accomplished, take some before/after pictures of all the jobs you do, post around on social media like facebook (create a page or post on your city's page), if there's a local leddit for your city/area start lurking it and commenting when people ask for help with something you know a lot about. If someone posts about a job you can do, offer to give them a quote or direct them to your site.
Make it personal, be friendly, you're proud of your work and you stand behind it, right? Show it off and people will want to work with you.
They'd rather work with someone they can trust to give them a fair rate and do it done right, rather than some random minimum wage fools paid by a faceless corporation that will screw it up.
