How to prepare for the upcoming recession? Do you guys have any personal strategies you've set in motion? Should I stop bagholding BTT and buy silver? Or should I short Dow Jones?
How to prepare for the upcoming recession? Do you guys have any personal strategies you've set in motion...
Long stocks.
You realize QE exists, right? And you know who determines its use, right?
The brapper on this soccer mom.
>tfw no mommy gf
How many Links for her?
It depends. Do you want to gamble for riches or preserve wealth? If you want to preserve wealth, buy precious metals and bonds to play it safe. If you want to get rich, pick up blue chip stocks on the dip and be prepared to hold for several years/lose all your money if a company you picked goes under. In either case, stock up on canned beans and make friends with the hobos down at the train station ahead of time.
hedge with crypto
Get a job in healthcare

People have been calling for the "Big One" since the last one ended almost a decade ago. Unless you are about to retire you gotta be long.
why is she feeding a chink? This kid cant be a mix
>Long stocks
Brainlet here...does this mean to buy and hold?
So you don't believe the equities market will crash?
Yeah, bonds aren't a bad idea depending on how long you can afford to park money in equities
Does QE mean the stock market won't crash anytime soon? Surely it can't go up forever?
>When you realise a recession usually happens every 10-12 years
Yes buy Silver aka Litecoin
Do you?
I understand this; however, the other user mention QE so I was thinking maybe this is the wildcard that will keep pumping the stock market for a while.
Based on past trends I do...but then again QE didn't exist in the past
i lived through the one in 08. if this one is worse then we are all probably gonna be shafted. mass layoffs. cars being repossed. people will lose homes again because even though they aren't as leveraged now there are still a lot of FHA loans and those have to be paid back. crime will increase. last time scrap metal thieves were a menace. anyting metal will be stripped and stolen. homeless everywhere. people sleeping in cars at walmart. it'll be bad.
In engineering terms, it's called a negative feedback cycle.
No, that doesn't mean bad stuff keeps happening repeatedly. It means as equities drop, the chances of the Fed intervening with a rate cut or another round of QE or BoJ style direct purchase of equities go up. Which sends the price of equities right back up. Stability, even if the rest of the economy and other markets tank.
So what do you suggest I do, just keeping stacking cash or just start investing into VTSAX now?
>neglects coloring her roots
Just expect things to behave like you're, say, a Japanese investor in the 1980s. Cash is liable to bleed a ton, stocks and bonds aren't. So yeah, VTSAX or VLGSX
So you think we'll be sideways for decades? Why invest at all then? Dividends?
She's an Asian with her hair dyed blonde.
Cop
Dividends, and preserving your money in a slightly better way than a savings account.
People forget that the "rip-roaring 7% annual real return!" behind all the buy-and-hold investor expectations depends on more people, competently deployed to exploit an entire frontier's worth of resources.
Boomers dropped the ball on space exploration or continuing family formation, so frontiers and human capital are right out. Their immigration and education policies are now also driving most of the west past the socialist event horizon. We're facing no major drivers of investment return until China makes progress on CRISPR babies or asteroid mining.
she's a becky getting chinked. Crackers stay losing
I see, so basically treat VTSAX like a savings account that pays dividends? Also I have strong faith in American business, it is still the beacon of innovation.
>Also I have strong faith in American business, it is still the beacon of innovation.
Japanese companies have done plenty of innovating in the past three decades, but just look at the Nikkei.
is VTSAX really any much better than VFIAX (S&P 500 admiral shares fund)?
Seems like performance is about the same. Is VTSAX less risky or something for some reason?
Not as much as America...I honestly don't see China coming up with something along the likes of Microsoft, Google, Amazon as well as the countless others
I see VTSAX as an evolved version of VFIAX because VTSAX is basically the S&P 500 plus more.
Technically more small caps I guess? Probably incrementally better expense ratios. Otherwise it's the difference between putting your eggs in 500 baskets and putting them in 3000 or whatever.
China only really got going the past decade or two. Their next tech giants would looks like Microsoft in the early 90s or Google/Amazon in the 2000s. And if you look at Huawei or Alibaba with that perspective...
you must be retarded
Should I just wait for the recession to happen, then buy the dip?
That's what I was planning on doing, but because of QE I'm not sure there will be a significant dip anytime soon...remember time in the market yields better results than trying to time the market. Waiting for a dip may take several years...all the while the dollar is losing value due to inflation.
Hedge most of your funds into crypto and precious metals. Short stocks and buy the dip. Buy real estate post dip as well. Try not to be in debt since interest rates will rise. Bonds suck, I don't know why you would use them instead of a CD tbqh.
Yeah I don’t think I’ve seen in my lifetime an attractive blonde with a chink.
rich chinese with russians, it happens
Most importantly keep most of your money in liquid assets. Fiat just inflates way too much. Have an emergency fund, and a monthly budget. That's all.
Economic environments move in financial cycles. The yield curve has inverted on treasuries which has preceded every recession.
Cash is the worst place to sit or all in cash at least.
The Fed has been in QT mode for the last couple of years and has been raising rates to keep a lid on inflation. This will soon change when they cut rates again and revert back to more QE. This time though that trick has already been pulled out the bag and there’s less room for manoeuvre. The markets will initially pump for one last hoorah, but with China trade war, EU in financial trouble, rising inflation the wheels will start to fall off the wagon.
Where passive index trackers have been a no brainier the last 10 years, investors will have to be slightly more intelligent where they put their money. FAANGs will suffer massively in a sell-off for example, but there’s value to be found in the P/E ratios on FTSE blue chip stocks in out of favour sectors. Energy, defence, telecommunications, transportation, agriculture are at 10 year lows at the moment while still providing decent dividends. Also of course you would have an allocation of PM miners and physical ETFs to hedge against the downturn.
The next recession will be bad, but what about the one after that? What will happen when the majority of the workforce is part-time or on yang bucks? Hint, McDonald's pays dividends.
Diversify your income in any way you can.
>P/E ratios
Meaningless without accounting for how much debt the company holds.
08 was very bad. They probably all remember it too well to not put up a serious effort to stop it by more QE or lower interest rates or buying up more stocks/etc. to pump the economy at all costs so that are money will be worth nothing in the future.
Will municipal bonds be safe during a reccesion?
ur right, only 200% up from 2008
God I wish I were him
Fuck bonds and any stocks, get into PMs
>crackers losing
stay mad eggroll dick
Actually more likely she adopted asian kid because he doesn't look mixed and I know its easier to adopt from asian countries.
Chink gene is so powerful that you can't tell if he is mix
Ok i will give the truth, crypto will moon harder than anyone will believe in this post, why? billionaires will exit scam fiat into crypto to avoid government and they will mass flee the USA into less taxable countries and thailand
However, the NSA has a backdoor in crypto through SHA 256 (made by them), so the cia niggers will hunt down every billionaire that tries to escape the big exit scam of fiat
You have been warned
Equities markets crash on tangible news, a crisis or disaster or scam. Not ducking retard fake news and bullshit we are in 2019. Go long
>I honestly don't see China coming up with something along the likes of Microsoft, Google, Amazon...
What is Huawei, Tencent, Alibaba?
Anyone in the world who owns a smart phone and has played a popular mobile game has facilitated all of those companies. Let that sink in.
>The cope
White guys that go for chinks are weak incels. White bitches only choose alphas...so anything but tiny white dick ;)
I'm not saying they don't look more chink ie slanty eyes but that isn't true. Hapas have a certain Elliot Rodgers look and this kid doesn't have it.
so, once btc hits 1 million, gtfo crypto and buy everything into gold, buy a bunker and go innawoods, you wouldn't be able to pull off this (blessed are those who will be), but you will see it as the truth, screencap this
Literally walk outside and see 100,000 asian girls with white guys. Only white women asian guys are because money or they are massive weebs.

>getting asian pussy is beta
Says the incel. Please have sex sweetie and stop masturbating to white cocks all day.
leave Buttfuck, Alabama and you'll know the fine white girls only date outside their race. It's sad that they know dating a fellow cracker is just too damn embarrassing...they lower their social status
Your trolling is pathetic and I don't live anywhere close to Alabama. I see shitskin women trying to date white guys all the time.
I have lived in seven states and ones I have seen date out were almost always low iq obese white chicks and I'll take Asian girls over them any day.
>However, the NSA has a backdoor in crypto through SHA 256 (made by them)
There is literally no reason for them to do this until crypto is establish, it will probably happen though after 2030. These people plan decades ahead, knowing the market movements of the FAR future determine Close FUTURE
