Thread purposed for general discussion. If you need an invitation code: Blokdilly
Rundown so far: App for mobile to mine Pi tokens (not actually a coin you can send/receive yet). App looks smooth, is really user friendly. Not sure if you're actually 'mining', it looks more like a counter to me. Created by 3 phdfags, they check out. The app claims to use hardly any energy, which seems to check out. However, I'm not sure the app is actually mining.
Haven't found any obvious flaws, scams or malware on the app. Anybody claiming the app has full access to your phone's functions is spreading fud. It only requests to refresh on the background (timer/miner) and to access your contacts, which you can actually turn off.
Am I missing any downsides with this project? My point of view that it's a real low risk for some kind of reward down the road. Anybody willing to teach me on this?
For anybody interested in their project you can download the app through either android or apple app store. Use will need an invitational code; Blokdilly if you feel like registering.
Bonus prediction: how much Pi we need to make it?
