i just calculated that from my ebay sales I'm making $182/hr. Do I quit my job and do this full time? My only concern is that my main source of inventory may not be available long term
What do i do bros
Ebay isn't going anywhere soon, quit that job fren.
Oh, your inventory. Can't you make it yourself?
$182/hr profit or revenue?
how do you wont get fucked by the ridicilous ebay selling fees
can only make about 10% of inventory myself (lower end items)
revenue. about $90/hr profit
fees suck but my margins are high enough that I can still make good money
wt u sell nigga?
you flipping Chinesium knock offs?
>about $90/hr profit
Still nice. Can you guarantee that your next supplier will sell low enough for you to maintain such profit margins? At least look into that before you quit your job.
I've had great success flipping MTG collections on Ebay but you can't get them dirt cheap consistently enough for me to quit my job. Great supplemental income though.
He smart enough to find a niche you think he's dumb enough to reveal what it is?
I sell different types of collectibles in a certain niche. Similar to but not MTG
no, just make a new contract with your employer. say you're motivated to work less hours and spend more time creating your own business. you might get better advice than here.
This. I'm not going into any more detail then I gave here
If you are serious:
>launch own website
>invest in software / or write it that takes items from your website inventory and list directly to eBay
>Use ebay to get customers, but promote your website branding on all pages
>offer better deals on own website (free shipping minimums, etc)
>collect emails and send out periodic mailings showing specials (every 90 days)
If your answer to the above is: but user i literally dont have any products that anyone would want to repeat buy...this is just cheap knockoff one-time sales....then abort and stay in current job.
Take a career break, do you have that option?
For fuck sake, I don't have ebay in my shithole. What do you sell?
There are WP plugins that do that.
>If your answer to the above is: but user i literally dont have any products that anyone would want to repeat buy...this is just cheap knockoff one-time sales....then abort and stay in current job.
The thing with what I'm selling is that each individual item is slightly different than the other. No 2 are exactly the same, which means I have to have a separate listing for each item. I have many high end $1000+ items and many lower end $10-50 items
This is a good idea. That being said, maybe get some more money and see if you can address supplies issues. Could hire someone to do bitch work for you perhaps (like a high schooler or whatever)
Without revealing whatever furry/MLP-tier fandom this is, are you generally buying chink shit wholesale and destributing it to retail perverts?
Take out a loan (banks, family, sharks) and secure a bunch of inventory fucktard
It it’s not that simple I apologize but this seems like such an easy fix.
no it's not some furry freak shit. Not even sure what MLP is. And no, none of my items are coming from overseas.
Kek i was just kidding about that. I've heard Furry shit is good money though don't rule it out
$90/hr is nice but the question is can you scale?
I see a lot of people luck out on a trend and then make nothing for months/years.
This plus eBay bans sellers often.
Not a option for me right now.
already said I'm not going into further detail
I definitely need to figure out the supplier issue. Can't hire someone as I do it all from home and don't want any random zoomers in my house or around my stuff.
That's an option but if something happens to my main supplier, I'll still have no access to acquire more inventory. Need to figure that out. So far no luck
Do it from your job
If my main supplier is around long term, then yes. If not, than no. My issue here is I'll be completely reliant on them. No security
What kind of supplier? I don’t see how you are making the item but also need a supplier that would have some sort of limited supply? Makes no sense. You can probably find a diff supplier right?
>What kind of supplier?
The supplier is not a wholesaler. It's kind of a weird situation that's tough to explain. Everything is 100% legal though. Haven't found another yet.
>I don’t see how you are making the item but also need a supplier that would have some sort of limited supply? Makes no sense. You can probably find a diff supplier right?
I should clarify this. I wouldn't really consider it "making" the item. Essentially I'm getting certain items that retail for $0.25 - $1 and enhancing them to the point where they sell for $10-$50. This only works with lower end items. The higher end items I need that supplier
What do you sell and how do you do it?
His asshole and very easily
>$182/hr
>Only works 3 hours per week
How many hours do you work at that rate per week user?
>How many hours do you work at that rate per week user?
It honestly varies. Some weeks 0, while others around 10-15 hrs. Really just depends on what else I have going on after my daily wageslaving sessions and life happenings
>What do you sell and how do you do it?
I've been a collector for 20+ years. Used to work in the collectibles industry so learned the ins and outs, how to list, etc.
Now I'm 29, about to graduate with a meme MBA degree. Working a job that I hate. This is something that I actually enjoy doing so it doesn't seem like work to me. It's profitable now but I'm worried about how sustainable it is.
Putting your faith in a company that can ban you at the snap of its finger. The sheer braggadocious ignorance by you simpletons is shocking.
>Putting your faith in a company that can ban you at the snap of its finger
What do you think wagecucking is?
It's slime isn't it.
Remember to share your methods here if the business fails down the line
Hopefully that day doesn't come any time soon, but sure. Will link it to this thread and share everything
This good situation may not last forever. Don't quit. Play it safe and invest your profits in stocks and bonds.
It's extremely hard to give advice because your situation is so unique. You can't reveal the niche, so we have no idea why you are so dependent on your supplier. Even more confusing is how you can churn out 10% of the supply yourself.
The only thing I can assume is that your supplier has a trade secret you are not privy to.
e.g. I know people who used to sell in-game items, made a killing by reselling from a Chinese seller who didn't speak a lick of English, but he didn't know the item duplication glitch the guy was using. Just capitalized on reselling to the English speaking market.
If it's anything like this, I'd suggest just milking it as best you can. And invest what you earn (I would recommend Bitcoin, but if crypto is not your thing, traditional things like index funds are fine). Just try to invest enough to be set for life.
You have an MBA you should be able to analyze a business situation brianlet
Use your profits to fund other investments. Buy a rental property, open a store or bar, start some other form of business, etc. Then you can focus on those investments with your MBA knowledge, and if your supplier dries up, you will have other income sources.
Figure a Chinese supplier that will copy your product for 1/5 of the cost
>dropshipping
2015 called they want their thread back
OP here
you're in the right ballpark with your assumption. Not exact but something similar. See about the 10%
> I'd suggest just milking it as best you can. And invest what you earn (I would recommend Bitcoin, but if crypto is not your thing, traditional things like index funds are fine). Just try to invest enough to be set for life.
That's currently what I'm doing. 12k link, .5btc, 3 eth & 1 BSV. I've already put what I can afford to lose into crypto and am now focusing on building a dividend portfolio (dividend aristocrats & dividend kings) with the hopes to eventually live off of that cashflow.
>You have an MBA you should be able to analyze a business situation brianlet
Like I said it's a meme degree... But for real, I have analyzed it but figured I'd make a thread to get others opinions
>Use your profits to fund other investments. Buy a rental property, open a store or bar, start some other form of business, etc. Then you can focus on those investments with your MBA knowledge, and if your supplier dries up, you will have other income sources.
I'm trying to compile a bunch of cash flow producing assets. Right now it's just dividend stocks. Even if the market tanks those dividends should continue to rise(only buying div kings and aristocrats as stated above). Rental property is one of my goals. I'm in Long Island though (Jew York) so need a shit ton of capital and am already paying $2650/ month in mortgage + taxes. My plan is to use my crypto gains for down payment on a rental property if we have another major bull run and the housing market corrects a bit. I'm not counting on that though as I know it can all go to 0. In which case it'll take a little bit longer for rental properties
It's not possible because every single product that I sell is slightly different than the other. No 2 items are the same
>dropshipping
>2015 called they want their thread back
I'm not dropshipping. Every item I sell I have physical possession of
