Half of my company got laid off today at 5PM no notice.

>Random company wide calendar invite to only select people in the large conf room at 5pm
>People next to me didnt get invite
>Go up there and its dead silent
>CEO MIA and comes in 5 minutes later saying he has made the decision to let go non key personnel to meet revenue goal
>Entire engineering team, marketing, and half of client services laid off on the spot
>"Necessary" restructuring to move forward as a business
>People start crying and looking at the floor
>Return to my desk to see my entire section gone but my boss
>Tomorrow we meet to discuss distribution of accounts and next steps

I made the cut, but all promotions and bonuses are now frozen until Oct 2020.

Do I just say fuck you to this place? Seems like a last ditch effort to save revenue at this point

What do you do?

> Stuck in the same position until Oct 2020 with no bonus
I'd be applying elsewhere yesterday.

Look for another job. Then quit on the spot.

business development in advertising (account/sales)

Don't see how you can interpret that as a good sign. It's easier to find a job when you already have one. Start looking now. Either you get fired in the next round of layoffs, the company bankrupts, the company gets bought out and the new parent company fires everyone, or your company actually turn things around and you get rewarded for your loyalty. You didn't give much detail, but the rewarded for loyalty outcome is the rarest one.

How necessary do you think the cuts were? Has he got a direction to take the company?
Or is this brainlet management?

Idk why even work to begin with? Just trade shitcoins lol

Now is the moment to demand a serious raise: if your duties are going up, so should the money. If they refuse, recommend the biggest fuck up in the department to be kept instead

How old are you?
