the only thing I learned from 2017 is to never sell
NEVER SELL
Use BTC for purchases after it hits $100K, but NEVER FUCKING SELL

I just made a coinbase account and plan on transfering a bunch of money to it to invest in bitcoin.

How long does the process take? I already sent my driver's license and did all the signup info. I need to get in soon before the market rises more.

What did you learn in 2018?

sell at the low, and repeat every year. like a true Jow Forumsnessman

That drinking makes HODLing easier.

Depends. For me it was pretty much instant. However once the buy is started that money is locked in for like 5 business days so you cannot sell however much bitcoin you just bought until the transaction is cleared. Which if you’re buying for long term should be no biggie. Use Blockfolio to manually track your transactions and pay your fucking taxes. Every crypto buy and every crypto sell is a taxable event in burgerland so keep a good record of it, which Coinbase sort of does for you.

THESE FEELS PLS DELETE

Using BTC for purchases IS selling though. "Selling" is just purchasing dollars with Bitcoin.

Okay but am I gonna get audited if I don’t pay my taxes on my bitcoin buys? Like will they really know?

use coinbase pro not coinbase, has way lower fees and you can transfer the money from one platform to another in just 5 seconds

yeah dont trade ur golden btc for shit fiat

This is a good sign. Normie idiot money is returning.

I use Coinbase Pro and I refuse to track my crypto transactions because taxes are negligible at my profits and fuck the government.

Can I just convert everything to BTC and move it to a non-KYC exchange?

>didn't buy at 3k

Earning less beats buying at 17k and having your bags stuck despite this bullrun

You will have another opportunity next year (6-7k). These idiots think we're going to 100k without a single correction.

w-what happens if Bitcoin breaks it's ATH before the next halving?

this
but the maxim still HODLs

>Can I just convert everything to BTC and move it to a non-KYC exchange?
in theory you should be able to, but coinbase (and therefore the government) will know about that transaction, so I shouldn't try to dodge paying taxes... probably not worth the huge ass fine, or in the worst case, jail time

It took a day for me. Also make sure to use coinbase pro to avoid fees. Just go to coinbase pro and sign in with your coinbase details

We go to 1M by 2021

thank you for the very valuable information based nigger pepe

For the love of god and profits, no one listen to this man. We may have a correction down to 4 digits in the next couple of months, but after that we will never see these price levels ever again. Follow the halving charts people.

Looks like we have a month or two to take profits before BTC tumbles back down.

MY LINKY STAYS SUPER STINKY $1000 EOY

should i buy .2 more to make it 1 btc

The second time it broke through 10k it was a double top and took a year to bottom out

Yes.

So if I did some swing trading with a folio of worth less than $2K, i don't have to pay any taxes on that, right?

I don't know the threshold for cap gains but you'd need to pull at least 15k to report it as income.

And it went back down to 10k in a third of that time....

You sure do, bud.

Cash-> crypto non taxable event.
Crypto->crypto taxable event.

It’s regarded as an asset, not a currency. You’re realizing some value, whether gain or loss, by trading it- thus, Uncle Sam wants his juice.

If you already have a coinbase account, can you effectively instantly register the pro? I still had Coinbase from 2016 but never registered for coinbase pro. I'd like to leverage so I can shoot for one whole BTC, though I guess I can do that on Bitmex as well.

I have tried to buy Bitcoin for like 2 months over a fucking dozen times and each time I try it infuriates and cuts me deep emotionally that a misfunctioning app or website can make me feel like I'm left behind or exiled from lambo club.

This kind of advice is going to ruin alot of people
