randomly looked at the price in 2014 and thought "this looks cheap now" and bought some

then looked again in 2015 and bought even more even cheaper, and checked up on it regularly since then, like once every few months

worst part is if I had been a fucking neet back then I would have probably look harder into it

I'm in it for a long time now, not going to abandon it again. Then again, I didn't have much money to invest in 2014 anyways because broke student (invested just 400€ at that time).

The 2017 run was just when I had worked for about a year, so I had more like real money to play with.

Approximately. I first heard about it from my cousin, who started mining a bit back in ~2010. I was too poor to even afford a GPU and too young to invest. I was considering investing when it was $100 and several times after that, but always thought it had already peaked.
