Then learn Mandarin. It’s that simple. Regardless of your politics on China, if you want to increase your value to any employer just start learning mandarin
Are you Australian?
Imagine having to learn another language in your own fucking country to get ahead... next level cucked.
It's easier than learning math and you get to fuck qt asians.
how about they just learn english?
we're the customer
fuck off I aint learning shit
Aussies can't even write English and you're asking them to learn another language? Get fukked mate
Typical boomer fucken outlook “hurr durr why don’t they learn English instead?!?”
They are learning English, but if you want a tasty job in literally almost any sector, knowledge of Chinese language and time spent in China literally goes so far because China is such an important trading partner of Australia.
I can almost guarantee that if you and me were going for the job and had the same grades, qualifications, experience but I had some degree of mandarin proficiency, I would be prioritised well above you.
It’s literally a no brainer. I would like to hear one good reason why any nation wouldn’t want it’s citizens to learn the language of their most important trading partner
Our economy is 2/3 banking and 1/3 mining. That's 2/3 where there is minimal Chinese involvement.
People who don't understand a language are harder to be ruled over by that language.
>just learn mandarin
>its that simple
its a fucking hard language to learn though
Someone post the never learn Chinese pasta.
>2/3 banking
absolutely frightening
Not really. The language is simple. You have a tone system to master but after that it is smooth sailing.
That written language is another story.
fuck no dude, have you tried learning it?
How do I short Australia?
Oh I completely agree it’s a very difficult language to learn. But making the decision to start learning is a simple one. Download Duolingo and start from there then start enrolling in classes
>spend 5 years learning chinese
>their bubble economy crashes and knowing chinese is no longer useful
arabic is unironically the more useful language since their population is actually growing and the endless wars and western influence there mean translators will always be needed
>had a spare elective when i was at university
>tfw took a unit of chink speak
granted i wasnt really focused at the time, but yeah it wasnt easy thats for sure. never heard of duolingo, might have to give it a try
Other than the usual means...
If you are within Australia, buy gold and bitcoin.
You can also long US in the US vs. China battle. China losing will take Australia down too.
It is not "smooth sailing" at any point. For basic conversation, it is much less nitpicky than Japanese or Korean, but to be proficient enough to use it in a business setting, you're looking at over 2,000 hours of study, at least two years of which should be done in China.
>learn mandarin
>guarantee that your future utility will revolve around interacting with soulless chinks on a regular basis
Holy fuck sounds like a fate worse than death. You would unironically be a greater asset to your employer if you went out guns blazing instead and took down as many high level bugmen as possible .
Chinese is really hard to learn, because they couldn't be bothered to make a fucking alphabet like the civilized world. Their autism means they have thousands upon thousands of characters: it's basically impossible to learn for foreigners.
They can learn English instead. Fuck them. The jist of that abc article was that the Chinese are too corrupt to trust institutions, they rely on personal interactions. There is no reason why we should indulge their criminality.
