Yea, I put myself on the streets on purpose a couple times when I was younger, I hitch hiked and got around instead of moping around like most of the homeless in the u.s., it's just a tough situation because some of those people really do need help while a good portion are just degenerates who could not make a good decision if their life depended on it, they refuse. So it's hard to help people these days because it's so easy for the ones who don't really need it to take advantage of the kind people trying to make a difference. When I asked business owners for food I always tried to be as private as I could about it. The guy in OP story fucked up by making a scene.

No my country has one of the best public transit networks in the world and it is free for me for six years (train included) as I am a student. We use just one digital card for all public transit

No, my parents are pay check to pay check. I did it because I wanted to see what the world had to offer and I had literally no money to do it. But trust me, if a homeless person really wanted a place to stay to get back on their feet, it is possible, not super easy, but if you talk to enough people, someone will inevitably help you out. If you go live with them and refuse to work and continue to use drugs and alcohol then of course you go back on the streets. There are quite a few people who escape this, but you don't hear of them because they leave it behind them when they finally get some help.

I would probably would have say that my boss (even if i'm the boss), forbid to lend money. I would have told him that i can give him free stuff if he wants, but the meal is impossible, my boss would be angry.
