"Vaysbrod" is a phonetic rendition of "Weissbrot", which means "white bread" in German.
Probably because it was rendered phonetically in the Cyrillic alphabet (вaиcбpoт) and then back into the Latin alphabet (perhaps at Ellis Island or something).
