im a btc maximalist and i will say for the record: (a) lightning will probably never work, and (b) doesnt matter btc will still achieve 90% domination and 100K range.
why?
Because the 2nd layer is NOT going to be in the protocol itself, its going to be in the plethora of interconnected outside services.
There will wind up being 2 or 3 major "payment processors". These will each achieve full-spectrum integration with fiat, exchanges, banks, visa, etc....you will use "CashApp" to pay for your coffee and CashApp will fund from visa, bank fiat, libra, bitcoin, etc.
It won't matter to either you or CashApp that BTC txn fees are $15 because they will simply receiving stablecoin transaction from each exchange where they have integration API.
