Monero vs Bitcoin thread

XMR is better than Bitcoin fundamentally, in nearly every way
Tone bays got fucking destroyed on a Monero talk livestream yesterday because he just couldn't defend superior Monero from bitcoin
here's the link:

Bitcoin, soley becuz it has potenial for institions.

If company A send payment. They want a 'recipt' or proof that that payment was sent to Company B in case of dispute.

You can print receipts with monero blockchain though... You just can't verify it for third party without breaching your own privacy, which is okay for some situations.

1 XMR will have purchasing power of around $500k.

Traditional banking already has "receits", delusional idiot. Companies don't need crypto payments unless there's demand from consumers.

Bitcoin. At this point the main goal is to get a high enough market cap that major price fluctuations slow down. Bitcoin will be stable within the next 10 years and at that point will have unparalleled liquidity and be the crypto standard. All major business transactions will take place on the btc blockchain. Monero has way longer than 10 years to achieve true stability

Do you really think major corps and businesses would be okay with all their transactions being public?
competitors would be able to view how much they're selling products for , and how much they are paying for materials to make those products
I really don't think most companies would be okay with that

You are uninformed. Monero has a verification key for send amounts.

Bitcoin is a deprecated proof of concept that is objectively inferior in every way to every fork and eth token on the market. BTC maximalists need to unironically literally and figuratively kys themselves for holding wider crypto adoption back because of their attachment to their heavy bags

Tone is autistic.

>for holding wider crypto adoption back
Which is good, because reliance on one single brand (bitcoin) is harmful. Bitcoin doesn't matter in the end, it's merely a brand. "Pay with crypto" > "pay with bitcoin". People are still unaware how easy it is to make and receive crypto payments. It's incredibly easy to set up for merchants and site owners.

Tone is probably the biggest retard in the crypto space. I've never seen him win an argument against someone who knows what they are talking about.

What advantages Monero has over a bitcoin backed token in a fast dapp platform using z-snarks?

40% BTC
40% XMR
20% ZEC
Feels comfy

z-snarks require trust.

In other words, by complaining that bitcoin "destroyed the brand" you're only making it worse for crypto, because it's about crypto as a whole, not bitcoin alone. There are (and must be) several ways to pay with crypto just like there are many plastic card providers.

Two entirely different use cases.

XMR is money you can keep safe from prying eyes and the tax man. Sure it has options for receipts/verification, but there's no baseline functionality for tracking payments.

BTC is money you can be 100% sure of, but which can be tracked and taxed.

If you were in Venezuela right now you'd XMR. If you were trying to buy a house in the US you'd want BTC.

XMR is the dude you want to have access to in an emergency but do not want to be publicly associated with because of the consequences.

BTC is a winning lottery ticket.

you can still submit tax info with xmr by exporting the view key, and there are ways of proving payment as well in similar ways
why would I want everyone in the world to know exactly how much i sold my house for? too much info for randos imo I want that shit to be private

What consequences? Monero is 100% legal and if they tried to ban it, they would have to ban bitcoin too because its free speech.
just because you want financial privacy doesn't make you a criminal

Fuck ZEC
>trusted setup
>somewhat centralized
>dev tax
ill pass thx
