look at the BTCUSD for bitstamp on tradingview with the 400 day MA on. Every single time we crossed it we entered a bear market. every time we came up over it we entered a bull market. we have been in the bull market since May 7th officially

OP - former prop trader here (NYSE/NASDAQ/CMEX). Since we are talking about leading indicators I can share some analogies.

It’s difficult to prove strong correlations for which we calculate the beta coefficient to see how closely the leading indicators are. I haven’t done the math on this but curious how you formed this hypothesis.

Second - as traders most of do use the S&P as a leading indicator for stocks. Stocks almost always follow a few seconds after. In fact we had a guy at the Chicago exchange calling the orders live. Good times. I’ll run some regression/Anova analysis and see if we can determine some correlations.

All that matters are the 20 and 200 week simple moving averages, and RSI

Oversold on weekly RSI + testing the 200-week moving average = confirmed bottom, both in 2015 and now in 2018/19 as well. If you didn't at least start to scale in there you're fucking retarded and deserve to miss the bottom.

Last cycle, the 20 week SMA was solid support the entire way up, from late 2015 to late 2017. Once finally breached in early 2018, it became resistance for pretty much the entire 2018 bear market until finally broken to the upside again. If you're not already in, your best chance is to pray we get a re-test of the 20 week.
