What quant is attempting to accomplish as an idea. that idea is only implementable using chainlink or a chainlink-like mechanism. It's all about intercommunicating blockchains - if done without link, it will be a cenralized server application therefore useless.
If quant tries to circumvent chainlink, it will get eaten by it. Only option of success is if they use chainlink, which will make them a MAJOR part of the new crypto ecosystem with multiple interoperable, smart-contract capable blockchains.
