okay but that'd imply the dollar value stays the same. i know people are triggered when you value crypto gains in USD but i mostly try to estimate the risk of losing FIAT right now. if i invest USD in shitcoins totay and they lose sats but the USD value remains stable i am fine with that.

Just look at the BTC dominance. Right now its around 65/35. If BTC goes to 80, it becomes 80/20, so 35->20 means almost 50% sat value lost. If it goes 90/10, then 35->10 means 70% sat lost. They probably wont go to 0 (some that deserve to will) but once this happens it will probably stabilize and a new trading regime will occur
