The more Link a node has, the higher value and more "reputable" it is because it has more to put up as collateral as an honest node. You can lend nodes your Link and be paid a return almost like how a bank operates. Keep your Link in the node, get interest. The Link that you are paid also compounds with your staked Link giving you greater returns. Details will come out about how it will all actually work but that's the gist. That's why people say they are never selling. If 1000 link were to be $1000 a piece and you got .05% staking returns, you would be getting the equivalent of $50k a year. If you let it ride, the number will increase like compound interest.
