When you are starting anything new your focus is 100% and anything positive or negative is far more dramatic in your mind. Once you get used to this you won't care so much anymore. Aim to reduce it's importance in your life so you can focus on other things. Ideally you should only spend 3 seconds a week thinking about your investments.
