I sold everything
That was absolutely brutal
The few gains that I had were completely erased
I sold everything
Your hands are weak... WEAK!!!
What were you holding?
PS: Always hodl unless you have a scammy altcoin
its still dumping though
you seem to be a brainlet so let me cue you in:
you'll never outsmart the market consistently enough to make money, so park whatever you can spare in ETH and wait for adoption rather than speculation to drive price
I'm guessing you're a poorfag too so whatever measly money you can invest is nearly irrelevant; your only focus should be improving your career/income
somebody has to take a loss for somebody else to make a profit.
You just helped that to happen, and that is a good thing.
>park in ETH
17% fucking percent blown the fuck away overnight, are you kidding me?
Get into USDT and wait for good investment opportunities
based
How can you guys be so sure this is done dumping?
We're due a correction, we went up way too fast.
I took profit on SNTVT from 300 Gwei yesterday.
So comfy. Should have followed the shills user.
1) Everything is down today
2) Price is currently driven by speculation, not merit
3) 20% up or down has happened a gazillion times in crypto; you can't time it, stop pretending
save yourself the hairpulling and obsessing over price by buying into things that actually have merit and/or good future prospects (which is basically almost exclusively ETH)
>save yourself the hairpulling and obsessing over price by buying
fiat or stablecoins
so you're trying to time the market or are you saying don't invest at all?
either way retarded advice
It's not that hard to time the market. Stay parked in fiat 95% of the time. Wait for a substantial drop in a decent coin (BTC/ETH/LINK/BAT/etc), buy. Sell the 3-10% rebound. Repeat. Slow but steady.
even if you personally can do it consistently (which I doubt), it's retarded advice for 99% of the population
I wonder how many Jow Forumslets have ruined or severely set back their lives by actively trading crypto
So how do you propose to make money in the current market? Hodlers are down 10-20% today depending on where they park their coins.
>So how do you propose to make money in the current market?
I don't
I propose you invest because you believe something will be worth more over time, not because you believe you can make sense of the infinite factors that move crypto up or down in the short term
I've been a holder since 2017, I'm completely apathetic to the price swings at this point - I did get sucked in and tried to time the market a few times when we were dropping from 1400, but there is just no way to make sense of it - ended up roughly where I started but with a bunch of stressing about price on top
we know
I'm not really trying to time the market
I just still remember the crash of 2017
so you've seen first hand how unpredictable crypto is and should know by now that it's futile to make money chasing price movements
if you believe in crypto you buy ETH because it's likely going to be the first driver of real adoption - don't worry about the price in the short term
advice stands: buy ETH and forget (if you believe in crypto), then go build your income in the real world
this is objectively the best course of action
So you had many, many opportunities to sell during the 2017 bullrun and by back in 2018 for at least a little bit of benefit, yet you didn't, and that's your best advice. aight
if I followed your advice I'd have bought at 30 and sold at 45 and missed the move to 1400
goes both ways clown
>basically and almost exclusively BTC
Ftfy
Btw ETH is a good investment but if you're not in Bitcoin you're an idiot or a newfag
why? BTC is a subset of ETH and it's already worse in the overlap
BTC has no scaling pipeline and smart contracts are a tagged on afterthought - it can't drive adoption because it can't facilitate adoption, so why would you buy the ponzi?
Okay i bought back in
please spare me bogs
But you did miss 1400. Ethereum is 270 right now.
I used to think this way. The answer is network effects.
sigh actual fucking brainlet
if I follow your strategy:
1) I miss a ton of upside when price shoots over your "rebound target", this happened to 1400 and it can happen again, at which point I'll make more money than you
2) when price goes down from 1400, how do you know when the rebound has happened? do you buy back in at 1200? 800? 400? you can't fucking know
I bought at 30, it went to 1400, then it went to 270
I'm up 9x
If I tried to time the INSANELY UNPREDICTABLE movements up to 1400 and down again, I'd have 1) stressed myself the fuck out 2) paid a ton of exchange fees 3) probably been roughly where I started all else equal, without actively watching price
ah ok them network effects
how dumb can this board be what the fuck
>I'm always extremely emotional when trading so therefore so are you
Also exchange fees are like 0.1% or less
hahaha way to address the least significant parts of my entire post and not by debunking them but instead by underplaying them
you make a strong case
I know you want me to spell it out for you but I'm not going to
All you had to do was sell after 1400 (meaning 1399 down to 270) and buy back in the 80-200 range.
it's like you think you have some grand insight nobody else has
all you've done is say "them network effects" and I'm supposed to eat it up raw when it costs 50 dollars and takes 24 hours to transact
network effects matter but I'm not a simpleton so I can consider more than one factor when making judgements
is that all I had to do?!??!?!?!?!?!??!
bait, right?
tcp/ip is shit compared to protocols that came later, but by then overcoming its network effects were too strong for any of the other ones to have a chance.
>you're telling me to sell an asset that gained 3000+% in a year some time before it loses 90% of its value? haha sorry buddy I don't own a crystal ball
if tcp/ip was a pile of dogshit it would be a fair analogy
translation:
>pls park your money on eth so the bags i bought at 800 dont keep dumping
>it's like you think you have some grand insight nobody else has
no, just everyone but you
yeah, it's good enough. just like bitcoin is good enough, for the last 10 years. anyone who isn't bitcoin maximalist hasn't done enough of the right research.
>I'm looking at price charts and if you just sold at 1400 (which you'd never reach if you followed the strategy I just proposed) and bought at 200 (perfectly timing the bottom), you'd be rich!
ayy lmao
>you'll never outsmart the market consistently enough to make money
Tell that to the dudes that bought $10k worth of Link when it was a few cents a coin.
>bitcoin is good enough

Yeah you're just totally emotionally invested and I don't think there's hope for you. Enjoy having no exit plan ever.
AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHJAAA HOLY SHIT YOU SOLD

BACK
pro tip: buy back in while you still can. unless you bought scams
imagine replying so many times but never addressing any points made
is it a brainlet thing?
0.023
perfect time to swap, agree
Basically none of them held past 20 or 30. Pretty much no one buys the bottom and holds til it’s near the top.
0.0125 will be even more perfect
Based and greenpilled
big brain + chad folio
small brain
On the surface you're not wrong, ETH does seem a lot more useful, easier to use, etc. But it's not bitcoin. If a huge transaction pipeline was driving the price, the shitcoins like XRB and BSV would be number 1, but they aren't. Adoption means jack shit. Everyone is aware that actual adoption can't happen right now, we pump via speculators who give 2 shits about the actual tech. The tech is trash, nobody is adopting this shit at its current state. The only thing normies can adopt is the gambling side. It's an uncomfortable truth.
it's such a fucking burden to talk to people who can't form coherent arguments because it takes ages to unpack why they are wrong
this is one such case, i'll save myself the trouble
Yep buy high sell low
Good job user
You should be 50% btc and then 25% in eth and link. That's the Chadfolio. Eth has gone over 2x since bottom and link did even better and both are holding their prices. Notice that? All the other alts are dumping still while eth and link hold their gains. So dont bother with any alt outside eth and link.
I got 0.20 BTC 20000 REN and 1000 enigma for moon mission potential
For a grand total of 0.44 BTC
All bought during the dip
So far REN has been saving my portfolio from this carnage
You are right and I know what you are getting at. Ignore the r/ethtrader seething at you.
This is THAT substantial drop for ETH. Psychology will tell you that it's going lower but now is a perfect time to buy. Support has held twice now.
