I'm thinking about going pro in poker

I'm thinking about going pro in poker.

I make about $500 a day,

Do you think that's enough for a career change?

Poker isn’t about making 500 in a day. It’s about grinding out a percentage all year long. Lonely life. Love the game. Good luck

A day? 2/5 nlhe?

good for you.
my dad made about 100k a year in the mid 00's.
The trick was he knew to fuck off when there were better players at the table and he knew when to hit the window.
My uncle was a better player, but he'd walk away a loser because he wouldn't leave until he busted the table.

2/5 or 5/5 nlhe, I hate plo.

Do you play online?

Yes. I'm trying to qualify for the 5mil tourney on the 14'th on ACR.

Which is it? You a live player or online? Either way, the answer is NO, do not go """pro""". You are 15 years late.

is there secretly a new online poker boom? fucking finally after like 15 years ive been waiting

Both
There's ignition casino, Americas Cardroom, Bovada, True Poker, Black Chip Poker, Betonline,

where have you been? Under a rock?

I want to get into card counting

Tron bet and a few on eos were very fishy. Must be main land chinese gambling on them.

>Poker
>Card counting

...

Who are you quoting?

you

You are looking to get into blackjack then, not poker afaik

yes

I swear, half the people I tell that I tell I play poker ask me if I count cards.

It makes me want to fucking cry.

>count cards.
whats that anyways

You wait until there are significantly more 10's in the deck than low cards, then raise your bet size because the odds are in your favor at that moment.

but in poker you only see at most 5 cards (on the table) + 2 cards (yours) ?

what's your 3 betting in the small blind strat

Fpbp. I miss the free money I made between 2004-2010, but nowadays multitabling is as stressful as any wage cage. I'll probably get back into it casually after the next bullrun because I love the game tho. Anyways good luck. You'll need plenty.

If no one raises I'll steal the bb sometimes. If it's a min raise I'll usually defend. Bigger than that with rags, I'll fold.

Hello biz. I'm unironically Daniel Negreanu.
what's this fear? relax.
you'll never get to lose what I've lost in single nights. relax. it's going back up soon.

This thread has been posted ad nauseam. The fact that you didn't say "I average" or quoted in BBs is a huge red flag. Poker was rough, even and the end of the golden era...I wouldn't expect it to be an easier now.

Live, you need like 20-50 buys that you dont touch (depending on game, playstyle, and willingness to walk when tilted). plus living expenses covered for 12-18 months.

There's also a big difference between doing it once or twice a week for a few hours teehee so fun, and putting in 12-30 hour sessions on the weekends and another 30+ playing with the boomers during the week.

Anything less and you're a beta bitch running over EV that hasn't evened out yet. Reality will set in quick, and the only way to profit on any edge you have is to grind, hard.

Or you can just put it in LINK and sit back and fap. I made 50k since mainnet just HODLing.

and you're saying you play 5/5 NLHE?

based off of that response alone, there's 0% chance you're a winning player in a half decent lineup.
