It's not a scam. Neither is VIDT, nor are some of the other flavor of the month coins on biz. I actually like the goals this project has. I hope they succeed. But I just can't envision a world where countries allow a random crypto currency supplant their gummint currency. Especially 3rd world dictatorships who have all the power to stop stuff like RSV by blocking the app. China's great firewall is an example.

Legit questions though. They copied the central idea of mkr/dao, that's eminent and explicit; but the difference is that pegging will be ensued by the market. All else the same. Though this is really a huge step forward because this would make possible for the first decentralized stable currency stabilized by the arbitrageurs nd so the market itself instead of a centralized institution. As to regulation-compliance, they will have the cash back. IEO question is interesting but if I speculate I think they would get around by listing other currencies (RSD and RSV) and not the speculative one (RSR), but if RSV will be huge as it is guessed RSR will be listed on literally any non-burger crypto exchange including Binance so that generate much problem in terms of liquidity.

People are just got full of Tether bullshit and trying to find real and more decentralized alternatives. Libra is close but its more easy to come up against because more institutional. This on the other hand is an experimental and interesting project and if it will work it will be really like fucking big.

Yeah that's true but not that long to 2-3 years. After the release of the protocol this Q4-Q1 it will be decentralized enough to be unstoppable imo. I don't know if the government will be able to shot it down as it is. Unlike Libra they are playing the third world card and it would be enough for lobbying favorable power plays at least to make this live until it is fully decentralized. Politics is always a multiplicity of power and you can survive it as long as you can ride the waves of conflicts from side to side. What interests me is that these guys seem to be very aware of this (unlike Libra) and acting accordingly from the beginning. I did. The RSV, that uses collateralised RSR doesn't come out until sometime 2020 (usually this means Q4 2020). The reserve dollar (RSD) coming out Q4 2019 doesn't use the RSR token at all and instead uses a tokenised USD.

You should read the update that was released earlier this month. RSV launch has been moved up to this quarter q3 2019. It will be launched through the app with RSD to follow later. Mainnet which is when RSR and RSV work together will still happen sometime in 2020. It's just the initial release of RSV has been pushed up
