It's a fairly small company and a pretty niche market that we work in. Lots of people have been here for 10+ years. Someone got fired last year for being an asshole. It's the only conceivable reason since he did show up every day and got his job done.

They used to be paid 50% better on average, and everything cost 5X less, houses were all new construction in new all white neighborhoods, at 10% of the current price. They worked 20-50% fewer hours with only one person needing to earn a salary, you had a stay at home wife that did everything except take out the trash and mow the lawn.

It was literally a dream handed to them and they sold it out for everyone else so they could get a new BMW every year. Sold out their own children.
