the "whales", a.k.a. Chris Larsen, Jed McCaleb, David Schwartz, Arthur Britto, Brad Garlinghouse and the rest of the dev team plus all the various projects and charities these jokers have donated XRP to over the years are dumping like there is no tomorrow. This has all been well documented, even the devs themselves admit to "distributing" or "building liquidity" by selling as much XRP as they can without crashing the market completely.
They have a SHITTON left to dump, at current pace it will take them some 15 years.

XRP is headed for $8. Nobody is dumping hard until $4.00 and even then the momentum will rebound from the whale dump as if was nothing. By time we reach $8.00, there will not be a significant number of whales to bring the price down more than $2.00 due to massive wealth redistribution when the whales dumped at $4.00. EOY price target will hover around $6.00
