How much money for a 29 year old American is considered “making it”?
David Gutierrez
Jordan Hernandez
150k in assets/savings and a 100k per year paying job
Carter Kelly
20 mil and not a penny less
Aaron Jenkins
But literally no user on biz has that
Joseph Lewis
at least 3 mil in a high-interest savings account and 7+mil in assets (stocks/real estate/something that will give you passive income) so you can live off of the interest
>job
anyone who has a need to work a job isn't making it. you think warren buffett needs to have his job?
Luis Moore
that's a bit unrealistic, but "yes"
honestly it depends where you are
assuming unmarried and no debts, $60k/year stable job is pretty good
Christopher Evans
I had over $150k in crypto when link was $4 and make more than 100k. There are a lot on biz
Jose Wilson
if you are at least worthless (no debt, net worth 0 or better) in your 20s, you're considered to be doing well
sad but true
Logan King
For me making it will be 35-40k usd/year salary. I am 42 and almost climbed the ladder, currently 32k usd/year.
Julian Watson
making it to me as a young boomer 25 yo, employed near boston, 100k salary, expensive living. I'm expecting to budget 750k-1.5m+ as making it levels. At this point i would no longer feel held as rigidly to my way of life and if i had unpleasantries like a job i hated i would pursue alternate futures/dreamlines if you will.
listen to the madfi-entist podcast and youll see many many people living 30 years on 500k by leveraging affordable international hubs like chang mai, guatemala, panema, etc
Chase Bennett
>still having to rely on an employer at 29
Fail
If you can manage a sole proprietorship and survive with that money, you've made it (lower end "made it").
Kevin Adams
To never work again you'd need at least $3M and even then you'd need to live frugally
Dylan Stewart
It would be stupid to just have 3M sit there. You could just buy a shitton of real estate at that point.
Carson Gray
>real estate
not a bad idea if you have extra cash for managing and for when the price inevitably drops (since it's cyclical), but if you just want to be /comfy/ there's no reason for it .
Eli Gutierrez
My monthly cost of living is around $1500 as a 28 yo single white male living in EU.
Including inflation and other non-regular expenses; $2000 per month should be enough to live comfortably as a NEET. I need around $2m to never worry about working again.
Daniel Russell
Exactly how do you NEET? Don't think $2M is enough to be even traveling for pleasure?
Parker Sanders
290 bitcoin
Aiden Stewart
He never SAID he wanted to travel. He just wanted enough to get by.
John Russell
$10M, don't listen to poorfags.
Alternatively, a guaranteed income (not a wage, an annuity or payments from a trust) of ~$500k/year
William Bailey
3 million for me is my 'fuck you money' mark. In a vanguard fund it'll be enough to live very frugally but that's good enough to tell anybody I want to go fuck themselves.
Juan Ortiz
that's what you believe to cope sorry user, but you can get there
you are closer to making it if you earn over 100k at the age 29. In 6 years with already 150k invested you could be ballin if lucky.
it's realistic if you live in a high paying states and live with your parents till or with some roommates for a while. But yeah most people won't get there but most people won't make it.
you could be self-employed and make 100k per year but that makes you still a wagecuck but sure you won't have to lick some cooperate HR pussys ass to get into your position
your mindset sucks trust me i've been there you will never make it with that one
you have extra cash for managing it since you generate cashflow from your properties. Imagine having 3M in your bank account and hyperinflation kicks in. Well there goes your retirement.
Dominic Jackson
I'd say that a six figure income and positive net worth are quite impressive for someone to obtain before 30. And even if it's later you're still ages ahead the average person.
I'll insist in the "positive net worth" part: It means you haven't fallen for jew scams like student debt, mortgages and home"ownership".
Again, all of this is compared to average person, which tend to be ambitionless and financially illiterate retards. Many studies conclude that the ideal income level at which more money begins to make little difference regarding happiness is 75k per year. Of course this wouldn't apply to places where costs of living are very high and etc. Use your head and decide what income level you'd like to achieve.
Oliver Jenkins
Cringe
Jose Cook
wtf was that
Jeremiah Sanders
anything above a million is good, it would allow you to gain more assets faster
Logan Hall
under-rated post
Jack Ross
I'm 30.
I have 80k savings.
But I'm saving 25k per year now thanks to my new wagecuck job; 65k euro salary.
0 debt.
Hoping to continue saving at this rate to buy a 250k house in cash.
Lucas Myers
i am so close
William Morgan
>at least 3 mil in a high-interest savings account and 7+mil in assets
Completely fucking unrealistic, that is like top 0.01% for under 30
William Moore
Absolutely bullshit and not true.
even if you only got 2% on that money you still get 60k/year, which is above average salary in every single country except maybe Switzerland. You absolutely do not have to live frugally on 3M. 1M is more than enough to not work again unless you are some materialistic faggot
Henry Walker
What is your job?
Aiden Johnson
This honestly
Ryder Rodriguez
Software Engineer
Evan Murphy
This. Lmao at all the coping poorfags saying less
