Army looking into crypto transaction tracing

govmik.com/Solicitation/W15QKN-19-Q-07KA

I work in BD for a government contractor. This came across my desk today. It's in RFI stage so they are just soliciting from interested vendors to see who is out there. Not a live opportunity as of yet. Thought I would share with the class.

Newbiz is retarded so this will get buried by Pajeets, trannies, and farts, but this is quite interesting, have a (you).

I keep telling biz the us government is on board with crypto because they know anything to do to try to stop it will make the price skyrocket. They just want to make sure that they’re cut and you pay your taxes

they're going to need a lot of information to build a database on who owns what
every fiat on ramp and exchange will have to be comp'd
seems like only a retard would get traced

>They just want to make sure that they’re cut and you pay your taxes
This is my gut feeling as well. Lolbertardian fantasies about (((the man))) seeing crypto as a threat seem just that; fantasies. I think at the end of the.day they're not going to care much and they just want their pound of flesh.
It's true, the fucking catalog is nothing but asses and thots.

As they are looking for a COTS product, anyone know of any candidates for software/vendors?

Jokes on them, I was just larping.

Don't be so sure. There's a war on drugs after all and they are associating bitcoin with drugs, terrorism, laundering etc. The federal reserve could be the ones pulling the strings on this and they definitely see bitcoin as a threat.

If you go down this road your concern should be (((the man))) co-opting crypto. Much easier than fighting it.

This is very bullish for my unknown amount of Monero

Sorry can someone ELI5? Is the military looking to create a division of Crypto police?

Are they looking dor someone to create the platform/means if that's the case?

yeah once multiple dex's come out that have trading on margin and atomic swap they're fucking donezo

to elaborate only those who report crypto on their taxes are going to be watched with scrutiny and, of course, some will be made an example of for fear mongering

this is going to be our generation's pointless "war on drugs" mark my words

I'm in the military, also stationed in NJ. Should I pop by and see what's up?

Digits suggest you should. The description mentions that it's for Army criminal investigation but I bet it would be used by military intelligence as well. Interesting that that the army are interested in developing this capability

You lads do realize BTC was a NSA project? Fully backed and ordained by the FED and other elites. If BTC was truly a (((threat))) they wouldve killed it in 2010. Why the fuck would they though when they bought in at pennies and you all bought in at 10k+?
Fucking summerfags holy shit you’re all braindead

It's foreign arms manufacturers and dealers accepting crypto for weapons. If you can find out how many AK's Achmed is buying with BTC, you can better assess what size deployment you'll need to sate the zog.

Crypto for oil, too.

Electronic cash is not a novel concept brainlet. I'll give you a hint at what is, though. Go to section 1.4 of that document and read its contents then go read the bitcoin whitepaper again.

So three letter agencies have been doing this to nab drug dealers online for years but the Army is just now looking into it? Fucking kek

Wasn't the Army's job to deal with drug traffickers. Weapons is a different story.

This guy fucks

>ELI5
Go back faggot

i told you guys like 2 months ago this shit was coming.

they have 2 vendors that already have working products that track ZEC and XMR.

Yes, this is obviously a COTS solution -- that's what the solicitation request is for. They aren't going to develop a program of record for this niche software solution.

>This is very bullish for my unknown amount of Monero

I've got a little surprise for you...should I tell you?

monero may have been cracked, zcash encrypted transactions are safer, but no one knows until the baby flash bangers kick in your door cryptoiq.co/will-the-us-gov-crack-monero-xmr-or-zcash-zec-privacy-features-theyre-launching-a-competition-to-find-out/

I think you underestimate the potential demand for the means to hide ones' assets. Marketcap is only $1.4B. Across the whole fucking globe. This literally my all in.

imagine worrying about the United States when TRV exists. y-i-k-e-s

>that track ZEC

zooko's a glowie

what are the vendors?

Does not seem so complicated considering coinmetro is already doing it with 0 budget.
