Please help, I dont trust NordVPN/PIA anymore

Hi anons,

I have been using NordVPN and also PIA for years now together with Tor. I knew that by using a VPN I was just shifting the trust from my ISP to the VPN company so that's why we all need to use VPN + Tor.

The thing is that even VPN + Tor is not safe. We all know the NSA controls most Tor exit nodes and darknet websites so they can easily link and find our IPs and information or just contact the VPN company and ask for the data.

I started to research about better solutions and I found some projects called "decentralised VPNs" like Orchid, Mysterium, Lethean, Sentinel, Privatix and others. The idea here is that there will be thousands of nodes hosted by the community with some relay networks also to protect people hosting nodes. So there won't be a central company for the authorities to go an ask for the data.

Also, when we use a VPN we really have to trust the company to encrypt our data, however in the case of dVPNs it seems than encryption is enforced via hash functions so any node that is not encrypting as it should cannot join the network.

I am considering stopping to use NordVPN/PIA etc. and move to dVPNs. Have any of you tried dVPNs already? If so, which one you recommend and why? Thanks

Check out these threads OP. Relevant discussions with many different opinions regarding TOR, VPNs, and dVPNs.

Thanks, I will check

All these shillers really think we're stupid.
Stop larping retards....

Tor is legit the only way to be safe. Firstly if you only use hidden services (.onion) links you never use exit nodes, and as such will always be anonymous. If you do use a glow in the dark exit node then unless they own the entry as well you'll be fine. Hidden services at best. VPNs, even the ones that claim they're logless are fucking terrible because they still keep VPS logs and that's got literally all your information on. For example see this dude who got rolled on by his 'logless' VPN and is now in jail.

Shit just Google VPN arrest an you'll see thousand of cases just like it. TOR can be unsafe if glows own everything, but most of the time they don't and even if they do unless you're planning another 9/11 or going full DPR and selling billions in coke they'll ignore it as they don't want to damage TORs secure reputation.

Which shillers?

Hmm, yeah but then why all darknet markets always recommend VPN + Tor and not only Tor? Also, many darknet markets leaders were discovered finally so I kind of don't really trust VPNs and Tor now as I did before. Do you think using dVPN + Tor will make it safer? I need to research more about this

All I hear is "buy my sent bags".
Go fuck yourself OP

I have never seen a .onion site recommend using a VPN as well as TOR. You're literally adding an extra (known insecure) point of failure.

Do you have some mental problem? What sent bag are you talking about? I'm asking about the security of VPN/Tor vs these new dVPN like Orchid or Mysterium
