let's start from the begginig:

what is a blockchain? well basically a blockchain is kinda like an Excel file but where multiple people can write spreadsheets in it, a spreadsheet being the equivalent of a block.
each spreadsheet contains like 3 columns, SENDER | RECIEVER | AMOUNT and it's filled with multiple megabyte of rows. everytime someone wants to add a spreadsheet to the excel file he'll have to ask the other people and agree on it that's what we call the consensus.

Now a pedo autistic kid came in called vitalik, and thought, hmmm i can make some serious cash with this, so he literally copy pasted the excel file (the blockchain) and tweaked it to add macros, those fucking macros are what we call smart contracts, but that's fucking dumb, because those macros are just dumb macros that can just write stuff in the excel file (blockchain).

now a few months after vitalik copy pasted the excel file, some shady fat fucks neets came in and started to think, dude that's not enough, i want to sell waifu plushies to my fellow neets and pay them in crypto. but how will that stupid mother fucking macro can know that i've sent the plushie to my neet frens by mail?

and that's how the ORACLE PROBLEM was born, the problem was basically, i want that macro to know that i've sent my waifu plushie and trigger a payment (writing in the exel file).

that's when a fat fuck russian scammer heard about all this waifu nonesense, and knew how to scam those neets from all their money, he created a middleware called chainstink. and those macros could ask the middleware about stuff that happened.

example : did neet A recieve waifu plushies form neet B? and then trigger the payment.

before the fat russian scammer, there were other middleware oracle solutions out there, but centralized, oracle solutions that said stuff like :
Oh you wanna know about the plushies? DUDE TRUST ME, i'lll check it out and tell you.
the problem with those centralized oracles, is that you had to DUDE TRUST them to know if plushie arrived and that could just lie about bout if they felt like it. Also if those middleware decide to fuck off and go on holidays then your macro had to fucking deal with it.

the fat russian scammer was really a genious, because not only he wanted to scam people, but he fundamentally solved the DUDE TRUST ME problem in a beautiful fashion. basically he said, look, i have an army of neets who will check that your plushie arrived at the same time, and if the majority of them says that the plushie arived then the plushie really arrived. also if half of them decide to fuck off and go on holidays, well you'd still have half of the neets ready to tell you about the plushie.

and that's what chainlink solves, it solves the DUDE TRUST ME problem by leveraging and army of neets.

chainlink links the real world with digital world. CHAIN LINK its linking things together. Think of it like that. Now imagine that every will be using this "link" to get connected. Think of the internet.
