If you write covered calls you want the underlying to be as close to the strike at expiration as possible. That way you collect the premium (what you sold the call for) and keep your stock.
Gabriel Martin
This is a really bad OP...

Jesus christ, I have bought full portfolio and Moscow exchange is closed now, I don't even want to look at the graph tomorrow
Caleb Martinez
I should say as close without being ATM or ITM. In that case, your stock gets called away and like you said, you could miss out on gains.
> Trump promised no more tariffs on China while negotiations were underway, obviously China didn't care enough to buy US basedbeans. > Watch China for their reaction.
More Chinese tariffs, and maybe a stranglehold on rare earths?
Even if it's just barely ITM it isn't the end of the world, you can just buy back in and keep rolling
Nice thing about really selling cvcalls instead of buying cvcall ETFs is that you get the money up front. cvcall ETFs give access to a nice diversification and automatic operation at a cheap price. And tax benefits
John Rogers
Eh, that's still pretty good if you're sub 3000 dollars in savings, I thought their 1000+ rate would be a bit higher but guess not.
I envy you user, that's the dream. Yeah, it's some horse shit really. I've lived with three sets of roommates and really only will need a roommate situation I bet for one more year, so I thought I had avoided the horror story phase. But it is what it is. I have enough of a paper trail to convince a court that he agreed to pay utilities, but the harder part is going to be convincing them he owes me since I don't have a trail. My roommate paid his rent though and has enough of a paper trail for that, so judge may give us the benefit of the doubt, especially if the police charge him with the theft. Damn, and I am finally just starting a job that pays a damn :(
Sooo... free $60 a year for opening a savings account with this company?
I think GDOT's 3% yeild with 3% cash back debit card MIGHT be a better deal. Though I guess you could do both.
Daniel White
what happened to Mike Tyson?
Hudson Thompson
He's CEO of UVXY, they're reporting tonight too.
Bentley Ward
Shouldn't be. Less than stellar Q2 earnings + fed cuts + China FUD. We haven't even reaped the rewards of Zen 2 yet and AMD has a conference on friday to announce more products. Trump is the only reason the stock crashed today after 4 hours of growth. Growth will continue after the China FUD
Christopher Parker
The optics of that would be worse than Tiananmen Square. The threshold for HK intervention would be if the HK police get over run.
Most rigged market in history Trump needs to pass an EO that bans short selling, penalty = 25 to life
Jayden Thomas
wait wait wait... THIS IS A BAD THING
MO, MRK, DIS, CRASH DAMN IT, CRASH!!! I WANT MY DRiP AND CASH TO BUY BIGGER DIPS!!
Brandon James
If you have 1000 bucks then yeah, but I think at that point you'd be better off just buying T or something. I just don't see any value in that.
I think the best values in personal finance is definitely either greendot or Alliant (3 percent cash back credit card for the first year with no fee, 2.5 percent thereafter with 99 bucks a month, or just a 2 percent card with no fees, then a 2.1 perecent savings with a 0.64 percent interest checkings). I haven't looked much into greendot though, need to crunch numbers.
Who’s lost the most today? About to book -$700. Feels bad
Charles Phillips
How's everybody's emergency fund going? Remember having to sell at a loss to cover unexpected expenses hurts a lot more than unrealized gains sitting in a savings account.
Yeah I double checked. DCU is a good deal until around 3.3k but then it tapers off with a savings where you just get a flat 2.1 percent.
Probably some wiggle room there but oh well.
Daniel Garcia
just fine, around 60k
Christian Collins
Trade war started at the beginning of 2018, stop being delusional.
Alexander Watson
there is tariff on all of the imports now. trump is saying that china has done nothing. the situation was getting better in 2018, it's getting worse now. stop being delusional.
Luis Johnson
Broke as fuck.
What do you think a reasonable emergency fund should consist of? 6 months of living expenses is my goal
conned by the Don. Trump has hated the Chinese since the 80s and has always been a protectionist at heart. He brags at his rallies about the "massive wealth" coming into the country from the tariffs. The commies were never going to bend the knee to Orange Man. You were living a fantasy thinking this would be fixed during his administration, because they are looking to cripple the chink economy.
SPY is super overbought on the 5 min, I would be surprised if we don't sell off into close and gap down.
Jaxon Jones
Y'all still WAYYY too greedy and not afraid enough.
If you haven't bought yet, HOLLLDDD!!!
Wait til people start getting concerned about their retirements and pull out more funds.
Thanks for the (you), but you should try to read the entire post, and consider that other "asset classes" may be impacted by market moves.
I don't like it either for the most part, fuck robinhood for getting me involved in the first place.
I'm going to have to check the Schwab HYSA again, they had a very appealing account with cool benefits, but I'm sure it's nothing like what greendot is offering. Still, could be nice to have more of my money in once place, because I like Schwab for stocks too.
You may not like it, but this is what peak SUMMER looks like.
CHECKED I wonder... the market may have gotten overheated and crashed. Good thing Trump knows to keep the market in check!
Hmmm. Greendot is also a pretty convincing company. No ATM fee coverage is kind of a bummer, but as long as you have a job that direct deposits into your checking, I think it is also a pretty good looking bank.
So I'd argue it and alliant are 100 percent the best deals in banking.
Interested, lemme know what you find out on the schwabe thing. I have my 401k from my previous employer there still, was thinking I may just roll it over into some kind of ira if their mutual funds are better than just a split of vanguards
Yeah absolutely. Once I finish this move im gonna really start pumping my savings up (got some last little credit debt though). Then I'm gonna open a bank account somewhere the savings can actually accumulate some value.
I hope to be financially off the paycheck to paycheck life by October, I just had some recent hardships.
Ding ding ding! How did everyone do today? I'm down .8%, I go to work, come back, everything's all fucked up! God DAMN that was harsh, and I'm too busy to trade it! I'll have to look at where the VIX is at, looks like I've maybe already missed out on buying the spike but let's hope we can pull off the patented bunny-ear short this time, I didn't in may
