While this is correct what this fails to realize is that link will create the marketplace for data, why sell API calls for .0025 a call when market participants are WILLING to pay .006 for certain data and .0001 for other data. This is IMO why link will be a trillion dollar industry, it will bring ease of access and free market costs to data producers creating a whole new category of data products you can sell. Imagine restricting your API to your node only bringing incentive to produce data the market wants because they will have to buy it from your node at your prices.
