HOLYYYYYY SHIIIIIIIIT
HOLYYYYYY SHIIIIIIIIT
if we breach 17$ we will go to 21$ soon
Depends on if the Chinese panic some more and buy buy buy. Shot up right after Hong Kong opened up.
Let's say an user wants to get into PMs but doesn't want the hassle of dealing with physical metal. I'm a brainlet, but wouldn't buying GLD and SLV on Robinhood offer some exposure without the risk of "teens" breaking into my house and torturing me for the keys/combination to my safe? Long term, what about dividend paying ETFs like GLDI and SLVO?
Not to mention, if SHTF, the government can just confiscate physical metal again if it wants to.
silver is money
everything else is credit
Can someone tell me why silver is still doing shit compared to gold? Is someone keeping the price low on purpose. Ten years ago I read that silver was going to boom in 20 years, so considering we are now half way, why are we still not seeing it?
Silver is just like litecoin. Sometimes it doesnt moon when everything else does but when it does, it moons fucking hard
Shorting doesn't drive down prices, it actually makes them go up because you need to buy the silver to short it. Whoever wrote this is a stupid cocksucker
Well, I just hope it moons before some space company figures out asteroid mining, 'cause when that happens there isn't ever going to be a mooning again for metals
>shorting makes prices go up
>longing makes prices go down...
They both drive up the price you stupid FUCK
I was telling my friends at a gathering a few months ago that I was investing in Gold and Silver and they laughed at me. We play D&D monthly, it's an almost 15 year tradition with some friends, some from high school. I brought in a sovereign as an example of what a D&D gold piece would look like. Some old rule book put 50 coins per lb. and my math said a sov was damn close.
I mentioned I stack, just in case of inflation and as a hedge.
"You sound like my crazy mother, 'Can't trust the government, the sky is falling'. You should invest in stocks instead."
I told them I DO invest in stocks, but half of my investments go into metals. Again, chuckles and condescension. I took it with good humor. I'm really looking forward to our next get together!
so if we would consume silver like weed the price would shoot up
>if you short a low volume market you liquidate yourself by pushing the price up
you realise that when a short liquidates, the broker buys back the underlying asset, yes?
so taking out a short, AND liquidating a short, all push up price?
how can the economics oriented part of your brain possibly think that this is the case
What's the best way to unload my PM stash? I mostly bought from an accredited dealer but I now realise what a scam it is (high spread and premium). I reckon I have to find a willing buyer and do a private transaction? What precautions do I need to take if I were to buy/sell. How should I go about finding a buyer/seller? I don't really know if I should trust Ebay.
If you don't hold it, you don't own it.
>mfw I realize that recovering metals from asteroids is the same thing as an Exterminatus orbital bombardment
I'm too poor to buy silver coins or bars, is there a point to trying to buy old stuff I'm pretty certain is made with silver for cheap or is that worthless because the exact amount of silver is unknow even if it is silver?
Yes as we all know, towing mining/ refining etc gear to space and mining there, then having enough delta v for the re-entry, is better than just digging it out of the ground
If anyone still trusts the government at this point then I envy them because they've been blissfully not paying attention
>imagine owning digits on a screen that represent imaginary derivatives of silver sitting in a vault that doesn't exist when the lights go out
In the event of societal breakdown to that degree, I would have been better off stacking lead in various calibers.
I think you mean gold, silver is for poorfags who can't afford gold.
