IndImmChan runs on the Ripple Blockchain like IndImm. Files are stored on IPFS (InterPlanetary File System)
Currently 3 boards: pol, biz, b
Boards are not possible to have mods or jannies. Once posted, content can't be removed or changed.
Use VPN/Tor. IndImmChan downloads from github and runs solely in your browser and only communicates with the Ripple Public Ledger and Public IPFS gateway
Yes, all posts live on the blockchain. The file however lives on IPFS with the hash location referenced from the ripple block chain
Adam Garcia
It doesn’t cost Xrp to reply to threads? What is this wizardry?
Lucas Jackson
Shame I was hoping it would run exclusively on ripple, but I guess IPFS is a LOT faster and more suited towards file hosting. Pretty damn neat overall. Hats off
IndImmChan client bankrolls all transactions with a novel way to prevent abuse
Liam Jackson
Until I can figure out a way to do bulk or non sequential transactions then I will have to use IPFS. I have a POC incorporating LINK to facilitate this, but will require a lot of testing and a lot of FIAT to test (around 10k usd) and before I spend that much money, I;m going to wait until there is traction/actual interest.
Hudson Thompson
That’s very generous of you user. How to make it sustainable though? This is like 0xchan, only with working boards.
Josiah Carter
now give it to the infinitychan fags who're getting fucked right now. it would be absolutely 11/9 hilarious if the most hated website on the internet right now moved in with ripple
Mason Jackson
Finally Ripple getting some adoption.
Caleb Garcia
>That’s very generous of you user. How to make it sustainable though? This is like 0xchan, only with working boards. The ripple costs are extremely cheap. About 1$ for 5000 posts at current rate.
IPFS costs will be maybe $100 a month with extremely high utilization. I'm willing right now to spend about $1,000 a month USD on it.
>Desperately looking for attention from the Ripple Devs >Desperately hoping to get picked up based on his hax
Brandon Gutierrez
>Desperately looking for attention from the Ripple Devs Ripple couldn't pay me enough to work for them >Desperately hoping to get picked up based on his hax
Nah, just a fun and easy side project because I don't like censorship
Luis Lee
>simultaneously proving xrp is decentralized and immutable >single-handidly BTFO's 99% of ripple fud very based
Nathaniel Collins
Pretty gud
Better UI needed but that's a given
Angel Jenkins
hey dude you use discord?
Nathan Brooks
would it be better to have paid postng so faggots arent posting "why are girls sluts" every day
Jordan Watson
I've been thinking about using it, whats up?
Blake Martin
(((Ripple)))
Joshua Sanchez
>would it be better to have paid postng so faggots arent posting "why are girls sluts" every day
I have it coded but not turned on requiring users to enter a ripple address and once LINK gets more use, will be using that to facilitate using any coin to post with....if I turn on the feature requiring users to use a crypto post
For now, it's all free
John Torres
want to get in decentralized web dev. my goal is to build an amazon type site where books are for sale and its torred across multiple computers.
this is clearly the future.
btw the ripple devs must be going completely insane
Adam Hall
Literally lolled. Well done.
Nicholas Moore
I like keep developing pls
Jace Clark
on a scale from 1 to tether how worried are you about someone reverse engineering your private key? I saw you went through some effort to obfuscate, but that's bound to be broken eventually (fyi I'm not trying)
Henry Baker
Gj op, will shitpost there too :)
Aaron Walker
BTW you'll want to enable jannies somehow or you will find out very soon why biz has them.
Ethan Williams
OP is the most based dev I ever did seenst. Thanks dude!
I have a background service that runs that keeps it at a very low amount of it is reverse engineered. I'd lose a few bucks at most.
Angel Brooks
This is really good stuff great work OP.
Have been able to post a few times but have been stuck in a loading loop on biz for a while.
You might want to consider a different ID system, maybe derive ID from the current field but make it a lot shorter, reply action in current state uses 67/420 characters.
If you implement some basic Jow Forums-x features on the front end like hover to show replies/expand images it would be very dope. Probably not worth your time at this point however but with improvements to UI/UX I think this will have legs.
super based. have been following your saga from the beginning looking forward to the next chapters
Josiah Nelson
smart. Hope it doesn't automatically top-off once it's drained since that would defeat the purpose of it lol.
Otherwise here's my feature requests: >Make reply-hashes clickable to go to reply-target >usernames/trips (maybe? I dunno if that's something worth carrying over) >webms (With sound) >put "FUCK JANNIES" in the title bar somewhere for lulz
Parker Nelson
>Ripple couldn't pay me enough to work for them
Yes they could.
Jacob Peterson
Brilliant work man, I love it. Would be happy to support future dev work on things like this, please keep updating us here - your work recently has been very inspiring.
Lincoln Green
Also I'd like to point out that not naming it blockchan is a wasted opportunity
Hunter Morales
Can i phone post on here Can this be the new unpozzed biz and pol?
Logan Foster
THIS
Levi Myers
XRPL isn't a 'blockchain' though.
Jayden Allen
this is genius. followed your project from the first post till now. What would it take for me to get to similar coding skills. Any ressources you recommend?
Gavin Barnes
The only reasonable name is RippleChan
Nolan Bailey
holy shit this is probably the epitome of free speech now that 8c is down.
Zachary Richardson
Just a shame you have to do shit to maintain privacy. Tor + VPN slows down my connection like crazy.
Samuel Ward
>Have been able to post a few times but have been stuck in a loading loop on biz for a while. That can happen when there is high traffic on the particular XRPL node I'm hitting. I'm working to optimize
>You might want to consider a different ID system, maybe derive ID from the current field but make it a lot shorter, reply action in current state uses 67/420 characters. definitely thinking about this
>If you implement some basic Jow Forums-x features on the front end like hover to show replies/expand images it would be very dope. Probably not worth your time at this point however but with improvements to UI/UX I think this will have legs. Those are on the way of this gains traction
>Make reply-hashes clickable to go to reply-target I'm using angular and loading the replies and their links dynmically. Angular whines about unsafe injection and im trying to figure out a graceful way to do this that isn't a ton of time
>webms (With sound) Those will be added tomorrow night
My coding skills aren't the greatest but they come from just practicing different things over many years and often going down paths that people say are stupid...like this and my other IndImm project
That was what I was originally going to call it. Probably should have stayed with it
Jackson Torres
id changed and forgot my trip
Zachary Gray
Is there a risk that Ripple or the government can shut RippleChan down? Recently 8c got rekt as you are probably aware
William Cruz
If you want it to be accessible on tor don't have a bunch of js on it. Plaintext and images ftw
Aiden Reed
This is so cool, I hope more people start posting.
>If you want it to be accessible on tor don't have a bunch of js on it. Plaintext and images ftw it's an angular page that talks to IPFS and ripple. That thing eats breathes and shits js
Ayden Hill
Once the client is loaded from github, which only takes about 10 seconds for me on TOR, everything else is just processing straight from the ripple blockchain and IPFS. Having a thin UI wouldn't improve anything at that point.
Zachary Rivera
Just put in a fix for someone trying to break it already. Refresh and clear cache if still having issues
Henry Flores
>indlmm well you couldnt have come up with a worse name, but good job user. You shouldve called it BlockChan
Easton Jones
Dude, this is epic. How did you learn to code this shit? I tried reading through the dev documentation but I guess I'm too potato to figure it out. Definitely has so much potential. If you beautify the UI for the average user (think, most people are used to social media platforms like twitter, instagram, facebook, etc).., I could see this kicking off big time man.
Zachary Wilson
Havent checked how you handle string escaping but I'm sure you'll be XSS'd hard too so be on the lookout I guess
The name is so fucking stupid it hurts, atleast use a lowercase i.. FUCK OFF
Logan Taylor
ever think about using Shift?allows for the allocation and replication of content across IPFS nodes. moreover, the file data is actually pinned to the blockchain, thus further decentralizing content management.
Amazing. Simply amazing. The idea that it would eventually cost coins to post is a bit worrying. A lot of chan culture comes from sporadic poorly thought shitposts which would be drastically cut if there were even a small money barrier. Perhaps implement a system were a few posts a day per wallet are covered by other transactions?
Liam Hughes
If I was to turn it on, the cost would be approximately 0.00002 cents/post....this will be a while before this bridge is crosssed
