This is inevitable, if we migrate to blockchans in great numbers. All the nodes are owned by them or their partners who they manually whitelisted. If someone wanted to shut them down they have information on every entity running a node and there's no system in place for new independent nodes to replace the ones taken down like in Bitcoin. When XRP becomes the standard for child porn it will be shut down.

XRP is in its dying stages. to have been around for over 10 years and still have no real adoption is a bad sign, the developers have sold off a significate amount of their holdings without any real production/development coming from those sellings, indimm released a way to upload images and text to the blockchain to which makes it vulnerable to massive spam and illegal content; the developers response was to make it much more expinsive to use the blockchain which will hurt XRP if its intented to be used by banks making constant transactions in small amounts. and lastly the most brutal hit to them recently was the fact that SWIFT/SIBOS (the company that developes the standards of how banks interact with each other) has developed a blockchain that is just as fast as xrp for the same purpose.
