I'm thinking of investing 2k into coral growing, already put 300 in. Good or bad idea? The way I see it the risk is if you lose the item. If you don't kill the coral you don't lose the value you put into it. The demand will be there cause of rich whites/asians. The coral can be fragged to promote growth meaning the value you put increases over time. Now let's consider gold. You pay for an once of gold you are now stuck with an item that gains value due to either shortages or the economy collapsing. The value of gold is very slow and stagnat meaning growth as an investment is slow as fuck. But coral on the other hand, the value will continue to grow as demand for large colonies is in high demand. This is a way for neets to invest before the normals catch wind of coral investing.

why not both op, good luck you crazy fuck
i like this idea op. coral will keep dying because of global warming and pollution.. and coral has value because it's important for ecosystem/beautiful to look at...
the only questions is is it profitable. how much does coral cost to grow from when it starts to when you sell it. and how much they will buy it for.
i guess the target audience is 1. countries (for their oceans), 2. aquarium owners (huge ones in public places, and just random people)
Just got done buying some more coral another $80 going in. Now there are some advantages I have when investing into coral which is I'm a neet that lives in apartment where electricity is covered under rent so I dont pay extra for more use.
When viewing coral as an investment it should be done as an item that raises value over time rather than an item that can support a business. Corals are varied and price is based on demand on color and variations. Some corals are easier than others because they require less elements to be used to promote growth while others die easy cause water quality most be top notched. The first picture I posted is zoathinds these I got for $25. Each "flower" is a mouth called a polyps. I can frag the individual polyps onto separate plugs and put them on a rack where they can grow freely. In theory if my water quality stays clean and there are the necessary elements in the water to support growth, these individual polyps can grow into a colony of 3-7 in about a half/3quarter year.
Each of those 3-7 head colonies can be sold for $10 each. I am looking at potentially turning $25 into $150. If you ever played GTA china town wars, you will understand that when trading low tier drugs you most invest hard into quantity. This is my plan to get many variations of zoathinds and grow them out along with a few other types of coral.

Then just say you like growing coral OP, nothing wrong with that.
how much is coral worth? and where can you sell it?
youtube.com
wouldnt these guys make it for less? how can it be so expensive?
do you sell it alive or dead?
I think OP's on to something here. I need Coralcoin to verify every coral being produced. I dont want that shittier Chinese coral.
Well, it's official, this is now an anonymous coral farming forum
Anywhere from $10 to $10000 it depends on coral type and colony type. You can buy/sell online or do what I did and buy from local people on Craigslist or fish store.
pretty much everything outperforms gold, including bonds, antiques, art, gemstones, whatever
Not really because they aren't as capable as people growing in a controlled environment. When coral is grown under control with inhanced uv and blue light it grows faster and with crazier color than the deep blue.
Pic related new coral I just bought added to tank for farming.
based coralanon. please post about your progress every now and then
Ask the aquarium general in /an/ they probably know better. Legit interested but I would personally go for easy shit like breeding Triops, brine shrimp or any "larvae fodder"
Coral farming is based but you're depending on your electrical provider doesn't fuck you
If you ever grow and expand you need to mitigate risk with proper procedures in the event of catastrophe
>he isn't growing coral. he thinks hes going to make it
Reminds of shrimpanon and his shrimp farm
