Idk about it being lighter on the wallet. After informing myself more about nutrients due to becoming Vegan, I found out about literally everyone in the West being deficient in Iodine, Potassium, Vitamin D(3), and Omega 3 fatty acids. Whereas supplementing Omega 3 (EPA & DHA) on a Vegan basis (Algae instead of fish oil) is generally more expensive. Add to that Vitamin B12, which is the only Vegan-specific thing you have to supplement... and you really have to swallow quite a few things to perfectly meet all of your RDI values.

Also don't listen to people like , who will tell you vegans are unable to get things like Selenium. Just inform yourself about proper sources (sesame or white beer) and you'll be fine.

Of course informing people about a proper diet is important. In the vegan case just as much as it is a regular one.
