I don't think you guys get it. There is no alts/BTC cycle. The rise and fall of alts was a one-time event. They were exposed as a tulip-mania based on pipe dream projects with no real-world application besides crypto kitties and drug markets.
There will never be another wave of normie money into alts. Every problem that alts could solve will be solved by big corporations using blockchain in the background of a user-friendly app -- where the user doesn't have to fuck around with buying coins or setting up a wallet or other bullshit. Every crypto startup working out of a garage or basement will fail.
Bitcoin is the next gold. It's the only crypto you should be investing in. Everyone has heard of it, everyone knows it as a speculative store of value -- a sort of gold on steroids. When worldwide low interest rates drive us into a Japan-style "lost decade", everyone will be piling into bitcoin, desperate for a decent return on capital. The market cap will surpass that of gold.
Asteroid mining is no more than 100, maybe 50 years away. Gold will no longer be as scarce. Bitcoin is scare -- only 21 million ever. Bitcoin is the next gold. Buy bitcoin.
