Why is everything about becoming more efficient and growing?
Why don't we all slow down and instead of a new iPhone every year we get a new iPhone every 3 years? Why do we work ourselves to death instead of working just 6 hours a day? We would still make progress but on a lower rate.
I wouldn't just have a positive effect on ourselves because we could use that increased leisure time to become more educated by reading books or creating bonds in communities but would also relieve natural resources.
It would also have a positive effect on our health.
So seriously why the fuck does it always have to be either completely extreme or nothing at all. When people criticise the current way of life they always say you can live like a caveman. Why cant it be in the middle? Seriously what is wrong with you all.
Instead of creating a life of balanced struggle you all try to get rich with some stupid coins so you can be worthless leeches that don't do shit all day while other people get fucked hard.
Why not progressing slower, have a steady evolution? I want to go on a shooting spree if I see you.
Because if we stop we die. Google "malthusian trap". When a society expends more resources than it produces it collapses. This time they are trying to avoid the malthusian trap with technology, but it's an artificially inflated bubble, since we've hit a technological wall. Life changing tech was invented by individuals in days, now some some improvements to the existing tech take huge teams and years. In 5 years we're fucked anyway - the hardware miniaturization and complexion has hit it's physical limit of 10 nanometers and the quantum computing is vaporware. And it's a good thing, the society is due for a correction.
