As seen that some rare card ended up to be lie 200k...isn't the case looking for some other card game that could yeld similar profits?
What you would suggest? Unchained? Magig the meme gathering?
Rare Pokemon cards
people are constantly trying to create the next 'it' collectable/game. picking a winner from the constant flow of new stuff is crazy difficult, which is why prices on rare stuff are crazy
how to pick a winner?
wish i could tell you, its like picking a meme. scarcity is a big part of it, but if its too scare its not able to reach enough people and becomes too 'niche' to ever be valuable, and mass appeal is crucial
Buy sealed wotc products not cards
kek card games are still a thing? I used to play Magic when I was a kid, thought the stuff is trash and threw it away
idk i saw a video of this guy who bought every MTG release for like 5 straight years a got absolutely rekt. a lot of people think this way with Topps stuff too (Bowman) and its nearly impossible to turn a profit with the way the distributers fuck everyone over
im going with gods unchained, slapped 1k into the genesis rare decks which got me about 400 packs. planning on doing it again in september after hopefully a decent link pump but before the genesis/beta period is over in 48 days.
love that you can actually buy and sell individual cards; since its on the blockchain no chance of duplicates being made without the developers getting caught. and with a a current tournament prize pool of $450k compaired to hearthstones $1.9m i think its doing pretty well to be in its beta stages.
but like said some of the things are outrageous, a 1 of 4 total mythics just sold for $63k. i dont know if the gu cards site is going to be fairly accurate for card value or not but if so im way up on my investment. also the game is pretty fun, client is supper slow and buggy at the moment
beta key if anyones interested in playing
godsunchained

You will unironically make an bigger profit with rare skins in fortnite, LoL, etc. these days.
The buyers of rare cards are neets who want to remember their childhood.
So guess with what the kids are growing up at the moment.
Unchained is the best bet as it's Gensis set is for sale now and it's the first competant game of it's kind built on the blockchain. The Hyperion sale alone broke records.
Check out triple triad from final fantasy 8. Cards were originally given with each game bought exclusively in japan. Now the full set goes for more than 1000 usd. I am looking to aquire a set soon as i grew up with the game and this feels just so damn good owning the set.
The time to dump your bags is now. I have an impressive magic and pokemon collection and have been selling them. Smart money is starting to leave while the going is good. Only 90's kids care and they will care for a few more years then try to dump bags all at once. Zoomers dont care about cards. just like we dont give a shit about boomer baseball cards.
A pristine collection of old card (mtg and pokemon) will never lose their value. As long as they are in amazing conditions. It will always hold value.
Based as fuck.
Pokémon wotc product
Look into some of the last sets wotc printed for Pokémon. Aquapolis, Skyridge etc... tons of money there. Head over to e4 and start browsing the forum homie.
how much do they pay u to post on 4chun
>boomers still have baseball cards and keep the prices up
>80's/90's kids will only care about pokemon and MTG cards for a few more years
so which one is it?
Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay. You can list your charizard/Cal Ripken for 20k but its worth what you end up settling for. Which you will have to settle, because the only buyers are sellers. The only pokemon cards worth anything are OG, fossil, team rocket, gym leader. You will get laughed out of anywhere with anything else. I have been to a convention with my dad for boomer baseball cards. The pokemon stands wouldnt even look at anything that wasnt first edition from the four editions I stated. "Worthless with no real collector value" according to them.
>thinks i get paid
you think people that grew up on MTG, pokemon, yugioh have the money or time to get back into cards? most are just getting into their careers, spending time and money on kids, paying off school debt. just because right now "anything not first edition" is worthless doesnt mean it will be in 20-30 years when kids are gone, house, cars and student loans are paid.
ive been making a fuck ton this year flipping baseball and football cards to boomers but I'm about to cash out after Mahomes hits peak hype in a few weeks, thinking of switching to MTG
honestly had no idea wotc did pokemon lol and im more of a blowoutforums guy right now. i definitely think MTG and Pokemon are legit cardboard investments i just don't anymore than i did in 1999. holding a few unopened first edition pokemon packs but haven't really seen the market appreciate on them so im not really into the unopened stuff
exactly the problem i faced with pokemon collecting, its narrow market right now. anything printed after 1999 is trash to collectors, but that could change, it happens in the sports market all the time, a new set could suddenly become more desirable and those who caught the trend first make money
>sealed wotc products not cards
why sealed product and not cards?
This hype is from rich people buying up the market because THEY think it's the next comic book boon. They did the same with magic.
Don't buy into the hype. It's just mass produced paper. Buy rare coins if anything
my guess is that they printed a jillion pokemon cards, they're simply not that rare
there's a lot less unopened packs or boxes of packs, and they may all slowly be opened.....
I feel that every generation holds less and less sacred. I feel that overall hobbying and collecting is shrinking. Its still popular in our echo chambers here but I dont think the current generations will hold the wealth to buy those things, certainly not at inflated prices higher than they are now. Normies wont buy in if the walls are too high. It up to you guys, but the professional flippers I met at conventions probably know their stuff, and they werent selling me anything since I made it clear I wasnt buying. Just one fan to another talk. Its up to you guys, but I would start moving your pokemon and magic now. You overestimate the soul the youth have today
What pokemon card is worth 2k? Mtg has some cards still worth money. I.e black lotus
