Im buying Google. This is gonna be big.

Lol
i still doubt that cloud gaming is fast enough for multiplayer games. how should that work? does anyone have reliable data about it?
We're never going to have personal computers either.
Instead of sending your input to the fortnite servers, you send it to the google servers which have 0ping to the fortnite servers. Its essentially the same.
This will meet the same fate as onlive
It never works. And this won't overshadow all the other controversies surrounding Google right now. They got too big, and reached too far. They're going to dump soon. Just watch.
i dont believe you
0ms streaming games to your 20$ portable screen will be absolute norm in 5 years when 5g connection becomes the standard
ps5 thundercock master race
>0ping to fortnite servers
The absolute state
5G is flouride 2.0. Enjoy your cancer and diminished IQ, sodomite.
Yes and the company with the most internet infrastructure and resources will win the gaming industry. I bet on Google.
zoomers don't know bout onlive
This is going to be a fucking disaster. Burger internet can't handle it.
This is a front to invest in massive cloud compute infrastructure in every city without notice.
It can then be used to run TPUs to train AIs and run inference anywhere on the planet.
I fucking love it
and what of the latency between me and the google server? based retard
he's not asking about this, he's asking about how the ping from your house to google's server is going to affect gaming, and don't tell me it's going to be as fast as a graphic card 2 feet from your keyboard.
imagine you're playing wow, a ping of 50ms is good, but your computer still simulates the spells then when it arrives at the server and back you see how much damage you did etc... now if everything in on the cloud, then you press the key for ice lance, and nothing will happen for 2x50 ms, not even the visuals... stadia and all cloud gaming solutions are memes, there will be some insider trading the day it starts and google shares will pump then everyone will go back to playstation, if it could work then sony and microsoft and nintendo would all have announced their own and would just use azure/aws...
also the solution where google simulates all your possible input in advance then when you press a button it returns to you an already made up result is too costly, unless you want to ditch the analog controller and reduce the number of buttons.
Only RLC can fix the latency problem. iExec 200$ EOY 2020
why do you want to buy something that is so costly, go for something like telecoin that can be as costly as that in the future..
I play the PC (Steam) version of Grand Theft Auto Online with an Nvidia Shield using Geforce Now. It does great.
I have GeForce now though Nvidia. It works great. Of course you have to use Ethernet. It's still free while you sign up for beta
That was pretty weird bro
i am streaming on my notebook using steam on my desktop pc. it's on the same LAN and it's a fucking pain
The absolute state of non-fiber internet, holy shit. I have a ping of 5MS.
>not buying the gamestop dip
Stay poor
Good luck once you hit your isp's data cap
So right now you hit the key for ice lance and your local computer generates graphics for the icelance and then 2x50ms later the WoW server tells you that actually before you hit the ice lance button you were stabbed in the back and died.
If you have shit internet and are playing conventional multiplayer games you will be at a disadvantage. If you are 300miles from nearest WoW server you will be at a disadvantage against the guy who lives 50 feet away.
Its the same with cloud computing. Except now you dont have false registry. What you see is what you get. Yes you will have to live with input lag instead of registry lag. But once google has cloud computing centers all over america it will be a no brainer to pay google for the service.
that's what I'm thinking.
Depends on whether or not 5G is what it's hyped up to be.
>this is gonna be big
Doubt it. If google were serious, they'd have offered next gen exclusives before msoft and sony. They can afford to spend a billion on games that could only be played on stadia. Hell, they could even optimize games to play to the service's strengths and give developers all the hardware power they need to close the gap between pre-render and real time.
They're not taking it too seriously, because 5G isn't widespread enough and may not cut it anyways.
Pretty sure Google's just throwing this out there to see if it sticks.
Sony and M$oft have the advantage because they fund developers to make cutting edge exclusives to sell their hardware.
>data cap on fiber
There is no such thing in civilized countries
Wait. So supercomputes in every city was real? What does this mean for link?
Not the same argument. Stadia is coming over the next few months so the challenges are practical.
But you have to actually stream graphics on to your computer instead of rendering them locally. The throughput necessary to push 1440p at 144 hertz is insane without hideous levels of compression. I can guarantee this shit will be 720p @ 30fps.
or not.
so essentially stadia will only be viable in metro areas where there is fiber to the home. I'm sure Google has a giant fiber backbone where they can achieve near instant latency to the datacenters which house whatever servers they need for the game, but unless there is a fiber distribution to the home the latency will still be noticeable.
google wont capture any sizeable market share of gaming platforms until that infrastructure is in place everywhere
Right. So buy right now.
The games in 5 years are going to be insane. Some fag on one of the gaming sites said he saw a ps5 open world game in the works. Said it was unlink anything we have ever seen in scope and detail, far beyond witcher 3, botw, gta v, rdr2, etc
However he said it looked like an early build and wouldn't be out for 2-3 years
Also the gta 6 rumors are pretty wild as well. 6 different cities to travel to. The cities have fixed populations and everyone has a name, job, and family.
Honestly the main reasons i will never an hero are because i want to see futuristic shit like vidya and life extension and age reversal. If you've seen Ready Player One, it's possible we have vr tech like that by the 2040s
honestly i think the vidya streaming meme will be dead by then.
kek
This is the third time this shit had been tried, and Google had a horrible track record of releasing barely functional garbage and the abandoning it in under two years.
Microsoft xcloud doesnt have exclusives yet. You also have to use a bluetooth xbox controller to play it. Stadia can use any controller or mouse and keyboard. It runs in Google chrome and will interact with other google apps like Youtube.
This. People forget how many projects google tries for shits and giggles because they can and just abandons.
You overestimate how much people know and care about latency.
Console players spent the last two decades playing on shitty upscaled resolution between 20 and 30 FPS.
Pinoys, Brazilians, russians and other online cancers have been playing with 200 pings on stuttering potatoes their whole life.
Literally the only people who will care or even notice a slight input lags are the /v/irgins and redditrannies.
Normies don't have high standards, which is why the world is overall shit btw.
>Microsoft xcloud doesnt have exclusives yet.
that's because they use exclusives to sell their hardware.
It will slow bleed until a more competitive product comes out, then it will go away.
Gamer here. I guarantee it. It saves steam cucks and buy fags the $1500 entry fee for pc gaming. Gaming pc cost $1500 minimum
I have 0 interest in the stadia. I like physical copies and always buy those over digital copies. Being a collector, I just prefer it. Also, when stadia servers shut down, all your games are gone. Or if they ban you just because, your shit is gone. I don't pay to rent. I pay to own.
Its not a product. Its a service. It will practically be a utility.
>Also the gta 6 rumors are pretty wild as well. 6 different cities to travel to. The cities have fixed populations and everyone has a name, job, and family.
lol it would take half a billion dollars to make that. And no one cares. The only reason Rockstar does small details like horse nuts or "omg its like real life" is to get free advertising on websites. If every character would have a name, job, and family, that would mean you could massacre a whole city and have no one walking around, and the details would be randomly generated anyway.
you just don't get it, do you.
the games are the product and the service.
google isn't providing anything that sony and msoft can't.
Except you can still play their games with a shit tier internet connection.
>If every character would have a name, job, and family, that would mean you could massacre a whole city and have no one walking around, and the details would be randomly generated anyway.
The concept makes sense. In RDR2, the NPCs have very detailed loops with fairly strict schedules. If you gun them down, they just respawn the next day and start all over, like westworld.

It would appear R* has developed the kinda workflow rumored. It just might require locking the worlds most talented artists, animators and programmers in a dungeon while they miss their child's teenage years.
Bruhhhhhhh,
The profits from this won't be shit don't buy google just because of this reason
>all talk
>current gen footage
They have an opportunity to build games for hardware nobody can afford and this is supposed to impress me?
Keep in mind that the internet sucks in my neighborhood and there's just no fixing it from my end. Pretty sure I'm not the only one.
Google probably knows this, which is why they're not pushing their chips in to build any content worth adopting their low effort service.

Google will be awarded the pentengon cloud contract to Jedi. Chainlink Oracles validate data via SGX enclave moving information via smart contacts
How did the player get into that first room in valentine? That’s off limits normally
>The games in 5 years are going to be insane.
Games for the most part have been on a downward trend ever since 2007 so even if the games look good they will still be absolute garbage like nu-God of War.
The rumor is that there will be a schism in the industry where AAA sjw shit gets made by the bigger studios and a bunch of the talented white devs who just want to make good vidya start their own studios and push forward
Games aren't worse than 07.
They're just the same, which is a problem.
It's like every year the game studios parade 4th or 9th sequel out there, combined every feature from every game ever made into an ever bloating level map and fanboys throw a fit over the most minor details being short of perfect.
If devs try anything new, their games bomb. If they do the same 'ol tried and true, they fly off the shelves.
You're completely wrong but you'll make some money anyway because Waymo will be pretty big
>ice Lance
jokes on you because you'll be stun locked from 100 to 0. latency won't matter
Play original quake1 (not quakeworld) and see what it is like on 50ms, 100ms - now consider what it would be like if moving the mouse was also delayed in the same way as your movement keys, jumping and shooting. Now consider the display rendering like that.
It will be garbage but I am sure all the normies will use it.
To expand on this with the "normies will use it". I hazard a bet that almost everyone on this forum changed from CRT or LCD back when the change over occurred even though LCD was a significant downgrade back then over CRT for gaming. Yet you all did it and then when LCD technology improved you paid over inflated prices for high hz screens that performed worse than your old CRT. Now cloud gaming might not be the same ballpark as this but normies will use it and won't care too much about the downsides.
>50ms
absolute state of amerifats.
Here in Russia I have 100 mbps with 5 ms latency for 6$/month and it is very stable - maybe 2-3 times in a year when I don`t have internet for an hour.
> get fast internet so you can look up 4K videos of americans living in luxury while stuck in some commieblock hovel
devilish
>americans living in luxury
google will probably use AI to predict user input and rendet it before the user does it, google will unironically make games with a fixed camera (like old resident evil) and will give you an illusion of choice, next vidya is going to be cinematic tranny shit
And how much people will play this dogshit?
Some will, but not enough for Google.
basically in that eventuality you just let AI do the game for you. put the controller down and finally leave the basement
What I don`t understand that is google betting on US where are shitty and expensive internet.
Unironically Stadia would be interesting concept for third world countries with good internet like Russia - because people cannot afford to buy a PC or console(especially games for consoles). So buying a subscription to play last AAA games with good quality would be a soultion for many gamers.
Can't you hook up your own steam collection or anything?
It’s good for you goy, dontcha want faster internett speeds?! Imagine all the blacked porn you could download!
>Ethernet
Not with Stadia.
>tester
ok this is epic
Why?
Multiplayer games play into the future, predicting what all the players will do, until they get another packet confirming what everyone's actual actions were. This gives the illusion of real-time multiplayer with a 200ms ping. You can't do that with video, and even if the servers are all located together, you can't beat the speed of light if you try to play against someone across the globe.
if its going to be big, its because google can get a whole new market (actual 50+ year old boomers, growing up 6-14 year olds) to be addicted to video games and use stadia for it
the lag is physical and it will never feel as good as playing a game on a local computer until google has datacenters under every household
This, people on here don't understand the casual mindset.
how are the game developing companies gonna earn money from it.? if their earnings depend on sales per order.
I never fell for the onlive meme but that controller always looked really comfy for some reason
