I am a wageslavie manager, I had to fire one of my employees today and feel very bad about it. She brought this on herself completely, I almost always take one for the team protecting my employees and bending over backwards for them to make my employees feel at least ok with the enviroment they have to slave in and have never had to fire someone in 5 years doing this, she just fucked up too badly and there was nothing I could do but fire her. She was a huge asshole sometimes so I feel almost ecstatic about this even though I know its wrong, she might actually be homeless in a few weeks because of this. How do I live knowing I had to do this bad thing? Dont give me any of that self preservation bullshit, this did not need to happen but it did and I feel immensely terrible about out, what should I do bros.

I had to fire a guy once. Safety problems. Wanted to do things his way, instead of my way. His way could've got people killed. I tried to correct him once. Her boyfriend tried to cash a fake check for 20K from our payroll company. With her name still on it. I'm sure she knew what was going on, and yes I know she was being a greedy and selfish stealing money, but i cant help feeling bad about it. I think its sad she was in a position that she felt she needed to steal that money.

I fired her immediately for her ultimate infraction, but she would've been fired in less then a month for work performance alone which I did talk to her about multiple times and gave her solutions, she was 19 and her parents kicked her out so she didnt even have a car and sometimes wouldnt show up to work because she couldn't find a ride. Like I said she brought this on herself completely, it still burns.
I know, it doesn't need to be that way though. It makes me very beta level existentially sad that she couldn't see how I was trying hard to make sure she had an easy job and got enough money in her paycheck, and she just didnt care or have enough foresight to do a good job and pay me back in the easiest of ways like not fucking stealing. It also makes me sad because I would like to think its worth it to put the time and effort into helping someone be the best person they can, but because so many people are like this its easier to just toss them by the wayside if they haven't been able to turn themselves into a good person.
