SWIFT is using inhouse proprietary Chainlink nodes, and not the Chainlink network that we all see.
So your neet nodes won't be getting any requests from SWIFT, however it's a massive endorsement of the quality of the Chainlink node technology.

GPI Link connects SWIFT GPI to multiple different external e-commerce and trade platforms. They need proper Oracles to facilitate the payment initiation, end-to-end payment tracking, payer authentication and credit confirmation. Ajax requests can't do this.
You'll see a demo at SIBOS.

The thing is, when I read this I always took it as that they somehow work with SWIFT on concept stuff, but not that chainlink is use by SWIFT. As in, smartcontract the company, not chainlink the product.

SWIFT isn't about decentralization, just look at the current SWIFT messaging service, it's invite only. GPI Link won't be opened up to the public, only large corporates and banks who are invited to join and use the service.
Chainlink offers decentralization if users want it, but a chainlink node can still work in a centralized manner. SWIFT may one day be forced to use decentralized nodes if that's what its users want, however it's way too early for that to happen.
