Customers gather and my shift begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my work station. I am the cashier in the darkness. I am the washer on the walls. I am the grease that burns against the skin, the shield that guards the riches of managers. I pledge my life and honor to the Night shift, for this night and all the nights to come.

in all seriousness, I will never understanding why anyone would every work in a fast food joint when you can be a busser in any decent restaurant and clear 49 k annually.
Literally the lowest paid employee in any dine dining place makes double what you can in a fast food restaurant.

>49 k
I was curious so I googled this.
>Bussers earned a mean $19,690 per year, or $9.47 an hour, as of May 2011, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The annual range was less than $16,260 to more than $26,060, which equaled hourly ranges of $7.82 to $12.53.
49k is a lot. There aren't many non-degree jobs that offer anywhere near that much.

I wish Hiro or one of the mods would play this song on the Jow Forums catalog. alas we never do anything fun anymore.

Servers and bartenders at a NICE place might make 49k with tips, bussers get min wage and maybe a few extra bucks here and there
If you have a car, drive to Maine. Work on a lobster boat. Profit

if you're determined that what you do has no meaning, then it doesn't. if you find meaning in it, then it does. i promise, there is opportunity in every second of the day for excellence, growth, and self-improvement. just pay attention to what you're doing and don't try to imagine how other people see your situation and substitute THAT for your own assessment of yourself. honor isn't just IN certain activities, you choose to PUT it in your activities or not. youtube.com/watch?v=Ugtj_rhhGHo

typo, i meant 40k, and this is confirmed mates.
I'm a bartender at a nice place myself, and I pull 70k, not even fucking with you.
granted, I am also a certified sommellier, and am tasked with developing sophisticated craft cocktail menus and I absolutely bust my ass 45+ hours a week, but it's the truth.
And my bussers are definitely pulling 40k. We wouldn't be able to hire any if they made any less, its a dog shit job.

btw, the salary numbers for hospitality workers are always waaaay off because most places vastly under-report tips, or only report a little over minimum wage. So don't rely on those numbers lad.
The best servers where I work are making 6 figures. I know because I do their payroll
