I lost $750,000 in the bubble ($58k initial + I took out my 401k to pay debts on a shady loan).
28 now, $15k in bank, no debt. I was betting $5,000 fiat on 50x margin on mex without knowing how to trade. I lost about $30,000 in mex over the course of a week.
Any success stories? Im in my late 20s, wondering if Im justed for life now.
$750k was my peak. My initial investment loss was $130,000 between the 401k and savings

i lost 3.5k shorting btc around 8k in early 2018, was using between 25x and 50x lev like the fucking noob i was, needless to say i got rekt with one of those liquidation pumps and watched it go to 3k completely broke. Learned my lesson the hard way, and so did you. You should stop, NOW

All it takes is one early call and you keeping your fingers off the keyboard for a year or two, and poof, you're back to $1M.
Lost roughly 60k. Was 12k in debt, paid that off. Now I'm in debt for 20k.

I had a 150k short position on mex leveraged 3x to 450k on btc when it was 4100. After a week it spike to 4400. I added 1x more leverage and waited. A few days go by and it spiked again to 4700. at this point I was convinced btc was going to crash. I held 380k link and sold them at 40c and took the 150k and added to my short position. 3 or 4 hours later btc got a huge candle to 5500 and I got liquidated.
I had my ticket to freedom and I lost it all. I would have almost a million dollars but instead all I'm left with are nightmares with this man's smug looking face taunting me while I sleep.
if not larp this is the rekt of rekts, makes me feel better about my shitty trades

If this is true then you are an OG who had a sizable stack. Why did you do it. Why user. We were all in this together.

He means I *was a link OG. I was. Those days are past me now. Greed got me I wanted more

bro, wait until either
a) btc gets a big pullback, so you might be able to get a long close to the bottom
b) breaks this short term downtrend by creating new ATHs.
Use no more than 2-3x leverage. wait for a few months and you should be able to get most of your moneyz back unironically but by NO MEANS use more than 2-3x lvg

Greed got us all user. If it wasn't for greed I'd be sitting pretty comfy with a 100-300% return.
I remember *running* to the local Western Union when BTC just broke $1,000 in 2013 so that I could deposit $2,000 into Gox. I bought 2 BTC and then we all know what happened. I sold around $270. Not a big deal, I was really young. I remember BTC dipping to $70 but I had no money.
Of course I was convinced of why BTC was going to be huge. I knew it and told everyone about it. Back in 2013.
Fast forward to 2016 or so and I start buying BTC again at ~$500. I have a much better job now and at mid-2017 I have 21 BTC. I ride the wave until I have about $275k at my personal ATH. I proceed to lose everything on Bitmex. 2018 was a horrible, horrible year.
I also have a achingly painful trade history on binance, coinbase, bittrex... For example, Buying 4000 LTC at $3.89 and selling at $8. Buying 10,000 ETH at $10 and selling at $13.
I have to pay taxes on all this stuff from 2017 too. I'm really scared.

My poloniex trade history from 2015-2016 is heart wrenching to look at. Selling over 300,000 XRP for something like $2,000-$3,000
