I feel like I should really appreciate my current situation, but wagecucking truly is the worst thing on this planet and micromanging upper management makes me want to kill myself every day. Maybe I should just move to some tropical island in Asia and escape all of this and work as a bartender or something.

I'm an IT consultant, started here fresh out of school a year ago. Secured a massive raise with my permanent contract (at will doesn't exist in europe), already putting me in the high-end earner's bracket (not super-rich tier but well off).

Great work, great colleagues, tons of autonomy, I can choose when I work, where I work, what times, great managers, growing company. The skillset I'm developing is massively valuable for my career as well.
