Because muh modern architecture and millenials can only afford apartments

Because developers keep trying to figure out a way to build cheap without everything looking like Roblox and they haven't succeeded yet.

See: the "Tuscan" fad from 10 years ago

This. The shitty architecture of the world needs to die

Childless families

I'm waiting for you to figure out a more aesthetic way to build high-density residential buildings on the cheap, satan.

Better than seeing McMansions.

this is literally the architectural taste of liberals, plus it's cheap. I don't really have a problem with it if people want to deprioritize architectural taste in keeping their rent low, but I'd avoid such a place due to what kind of renters it would attract that I'd have as neighbors.

they a bit deranged offspring of a shipping container and office block, but, quite like those desu. Theres plenty way, way worse
>literally the architectural taste of liberals
PROBLEM, ADOLF ? I'd extremely doubt those are ghetto material

Style aside, what absolute garbage build quality. You shouldn't be able to see massive imperfections from 50 feet away on new construction. There was a big news story here locally with this kind of construction having big water damage problems in houses only 2 years old.

Attached: quality mexican craftsmanship.png (1024x706, 1.05M)

>rent low
Are you retarded? Those townhomes cost 800k a pop.

I thought it was a small apartment, I've seen apartments that look like this. I mean it's low construction cost, and something that looks better would raise the price.

It will crumble in 10-15 years and then some new construction goy will shell out shekels for whatever flavor of vomit box the normies want.
This is good for an eternal economy

I don't know but it should straight up be illegal. They're so fucking ugly it hurts.

They're trying to encourage middle-class millenials to move to the area

if people buy them then there's a demand for it

holy fuck, millennial hipsters BTFO

Very simple, don’t allow central banks to force populations to breed like rats and produce hordes of people with nothing to contribute to society

I actually don't mind the industrial look. It's brutal for sure but they are likely to be better built than a McMansion.

I really like squares for some reason.

The best trick the rich every pulled is convincing the working class they have it good.

Make cheap garbage housing "cool" and it's even easier to keep the slaves working.

you like squares because like attracts like

Fuck it, I'd live in one of those neon cubes.
Better than the stucco, plywood shit I'm used to living in.

Sounds like he understands it better than retards such as yourself.

a straight box made of prefab concrete painted with windows in it would unironically look better than this shit

flats of that era are way more spacious than the shit they build now

Because we mustn't let the underlings consume much more resources.
Automation is close now so they wont be necessary for much longer but if we dont keep a check on world population and recourse consumption there wont be enough left for the chosen people.

Attached: 1501308171594.png (1876x4500, 877K)

excuse my zoomerness but what is the issue you are pointing out here

It's about even. OP's building wouldn't even be terrible if it weren't for the fucking warehouse panels and overall obvious cheapness of materials

Fuck man, they even stole the blue sky over their heads that's just brutal

planned obsolescence

Honestly, this is not too bad considering the atrocities they have build in these last decades in every western city and small town. The bar is just too low I guess.

OH NO NO NO

This crap wouldn't be going anywhere after the glorious peoples revolution, assuming the dictator doesn't take specific issue with it after the purges. Similar to the Marvel movies, the people that are most pinko sympathetic like this stuff the most, and would still clamor for more.

It's because most current home owners fight development at great lengths. They don't want the house next door depreciating the value of their house because the majority of their wealth is stored in their house. This creates a vicious cycle because it works. The value of their house stays high, and they have more capital to fight future development.
So then we have a housing shortage.
When a project does sneak through city approval, it's most advantageous for the developer to create a condo they can cram more people into.
The developer is also incentived to build in a way that turns all buildable area into rentable area. The style generally comes from a mix of what is cheap, what is palatable by the majority of the market, and what legislated normativity laws the city has requiring form, color, and materials to fit existing buildings.
This has also been exacerbated by the number of architecture offices, and programs, that operate on a copy paste basis.
Then millennials get stuck in a loop of renting, never able to afford a house.
They never start earning equity on their asset, and they never have the allowance to customize their home in a way that reflects them. So the houses generally stay similar looking, like they were pounded out by a factory in some centrally planned dystopia.

I could tell you what needs to happen to fix this, but you're not going to like it.

The make houses super ugly and gaudy in northern climates so you can see them during snowstorms, but why do they do it in temperate climates? Good god.

That's a shitty larp because that guy tries to play off the effects of insecticides on mammals as a marketing ploy (re: transgenderism)

A few of the things he says resonate as possibly true, but part of it is whitewashing for big agro

>don’t allow central banks to force populations to breed like rats

Idiot

>Because developers keep trying to figure out a way to build cheap
This.

just lmao at how americans live. here is a picture from my hometown, the building is centuries older than the United States and will still be around long after your society has turned into planet of the apes.

Not just US user same style here in UK only shittier

This is progress. I'd see if they are hiring.

>old buildings look better than new buildings
>the US doesnt have any old buildings
just lmao at you burger plebs go back to your ant colony while I take a refreshing walk among century old buildings that are full of charm and history

dystopia is happening but in a very lame way; no holowaifus, no good cybernetics, no space travel, no real AI (the only "AI" we have currently is essentially advanced scripting and used to serve corporate masters)

They are cheap to build and price only is determined by living area. So they lower the costs of building boxes and increase living space, maximizing profits

Now since everybody knows this, they are competing between them who can make the most boxed looking shiity house, with most space and sell it most cheaply and still have profits.

>I could tell you what needs to happen to fix this, but you're not going to like it.

?

because of jews

Real estate speculation means you don't have to build housing that people can actually afford to live in.

I'm pretty sure tenants are a net negative to the worth of a property as an investment, actually.

>I could tell you what needs to happen to fix this, but you're not going to like it.
explain pls, brainlet here

What would need to happen?

Probably state violence and/or the nationalization of construction firms, if I had to guess.

I once had a "gf" who was into architecture; her idea of architecture was piling cubes on top of cubes in AutoCad (or whatever she was using at the time); putting shiny surfaces on there, flooding light into it and showing it off as "groundbreaking design for future housing".

forgot to mention, she did go to art school and archi school for this and was paid to do this by an architecture design firm.
she always was agonizing about how colorful or not some surface needed to be, if she really needed a tree in front of that corner of that one box she called the living room; but when I asked where utilities are going to go and such (like practical stuff) she shrugged...

meanwhile I could draw something better in 10mn for free, taking into account utilities, potential structural issues, materials etc... and I didn't even go to any school for this.

legit architects do not deal with these matters, bulk of the work is about integration of complex systems

but yes most are brainwashed
