What have you done
interesting concet
Webchains?
i think blockchains should be like websites. so with webchains you can make your own blockchain, and the crypto then can be transferred in/out of each webchains.
here is the github link

and youtube

i wanted to create a blockchain project that has redundancy, easy to set up, can handle multiple kinds of data and has different admin systems for people who want more or less control.
i did everything i mentioned here with webchains. you can also use webchains as a backend database for your websites/web apps. polboard.live is an example of a front-end that uses webchain exclusively as a backend database. also since other people can join as a node, it means as long as there is multiple nodes the data is always available. the data can never be taken down. also created this project to help people go against this deplatforming thats going on against the chan sites. people can create chan sites with webchains and join as nodes, and then they will have a hard time taking all the nodes down.
thanks
yeah at first i used blockchan, but than chose webchains. i am aware that "webchain" without an s is already used, so i picked webchains with an s. basically i wanna make blockchain like a site. so website, then webchain.
the site has the discord link
What blockchain is it based on?
So you recreated Zeronet?
its not based on anything else. webchains is its own kind of blockchain.
nope, webchains is different. one webchains package has no file size limits.
That's pretty innovative, I believe. Cheers
Does it have protection against double spending, though?
Very interesting
Do you have a guide for the semi tech literate reader?
yes it has basic protection against double spending but i am making more updates as well right now against it.
yes the github link has a guide.
github.com
and
github.com
also on youtube
youtube.com/c/webchains
i plan to update the guides too.

The site just spins for me and never loads fren
strange works perfectly fine for me, try on another browser.

I think it's my vpn, nevermind

I'm the BlockChan dev. It sounds like you are creating an entire new blockchain, how difficult would it be to port my work to your chain?
or would that defeat the purpose
So are you stepping away from the webchains name? Or is this a different project?
i am not stepping away from the webchains name.
polboard.live is just an example/demo site to show how a front-end can be made to communicate with the backend(webchain).
is there a github repo for Blockchan? wanted to take a look.
i do want to let everyone know i had 2 steps.
step 1: have a working app/program
step 2: improve the app/program and the code
currently while everything is working, the code needs to be improved as far as readability and organization goes. so that is one of the things i will be doing. i wanted to have something that is working first to show that the idea can work.
also made another example site but i dont know if i can share it since its a competing chan site that was taken down. you guys should know which one. this example/demo site uses the forum package of webchains. basically it supports categories which is like boards in here. so you can have a pol category or a random category. pretty flexible.
here i'll share the video that has the url.
what i meant is the url of my other site used to be the url of another chan site that was taken down. it has an 8 in it lol. i tried sharing it before here but i think that other chan site is considered spam or something so it will not let me post it here.
