In total, my bills are about $700 a month and I live in a nice neighborhood on the edge of a medium sized city about 8 miles from the beach. 500k is plenty to set you up for life. Now if you want to drive a brand new Porche and you want to do a lot of traveling, etc. then you gonna need more.

These are safe assumptions, OP:

6% nominal investment return average per year minus 3% inflation per year equals 3% real (i.e. taking into account inflation) returns per year. You should be able to live off that, and then you're in a pretty good position, even if your portfolio takes a dive.

3% a year means 0.25% per month to live off, or a quarter of a percent... So it's all very easy to calculate... multiply your desired monthly income by 400 to get the amount of money you need.

you need 2k per month? Then you'll need 800k.
you need 3k per month? Then you'll need 1.2mm.

... And so on.

Excellent question. I made that 500k in crypto starting from a much smaller entry and what I did to get this far still seems to be working. I made a couple of bitcoins just trading the volatility we've seen the last week. My plan is trade up to a 3 million stack then just retire out of everything and see where life leads. Wish me luck. And if I don't make it, say crypto takes a massive shit or whatever, I've been having luck messing around with leveraged ETF's lately and I'm going to be giving futures a shot pretty soon.
I've made up my mind that "trading" is what I do and so far I've been pretty good at it. We're all in this thing together and we have to keep trying no matter what happens.

Good luck bro, but crypto probably wont take a shit. Its been here 10 years, fair to say it'll last 10 more and if it does, it'll be at much higher prices.
