Post your watch when you make it
Patrician choice friend
Just a Daytona, I reckon.
cashed out my LINK gains for this bad boy
>wearing a watch
oi what's wrong with this hand never seen this pic in any similar thread before
I don't wear watches. Everyone's got a dozen digital devices to tell the time, which are more accurate than mechanical watches anyway. Which only leaves the fashion element, which is gay. You may as well be talking about what kind of cufflinks you're gonna buy.
If I make it, I won't give a fuck what time it is.
>not getting a watch with a mermaid eating out a blond underwater
>being this low test
>pic related
Shoo shoo zoomer.
>Which only leaves the fashion element, which is gay.
Not gonna make it, autist.
I HAVE AN IWATCH
same
Operating shit on a small screen on your wrist seems bothersome, is it actually useful?
Yeah I can reply to texts/answer phone calls on it.
I mostly use it for fitness tracking and I get sent notifications for % changes in my folios
It's rude to check your phone for the time in certain situations. The conference rooms in my office have no clocks, so a watch is the only polite way to check the time in meetings unless someone's using the projector. I don't like watches myself but they do come in handy sometimes.
It's only useful for manipulations with music and checking the current time + pulse, maybe also weather, checking messages/calls/dismissing alarms and tracking sleep to some degree.
Have never seen that attraction to these.
I think most expensive watches look very poor.
I also wonder what you're getting out of having an expensive watch vs say a top notch replica. It's not like the replica won't perform as well and looks the same?
Are you going to leave in the middle of a meeting? What does it matter what time it is in such a situation? Besides, now that literally everyone has a cellphone it's not really rude to check it whenever you want, since everyone else does anyway. Cellphone usage used to be rude in a lot of circumstances that are no longer the case, no one gives a shit anymore.
>I think most expensive watches look very poor
You have probablely never seen one in person. Watches dont look good in pictures. That aside, rolex is a overpriced crap, grand seiko has better finish for fraction of the price, but doesnt attract thots.
>Besides, now that literally everyone has a cellphone it's not really rude to check it whenever you want, since everyone else does anyway.
Maybe everyone in uni does, you dumb zoomer. Putting aside what is rude and what isnt, just not having to dig phone out of your pants every time you want to check the time is worth it. Im sure its nit a probpem for you since you keep your phone in hand at all times to play fortnite, but most people dont do that.
EVERY MAN NEEEEEEEEEEEEEDS A ROOOOOOOOOLEXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
You're all cunts
>Cunts I tell ya
>I also wonder what you're getting out of having an expensive watch vs say a top notch replica. It's not like the replica won't perform as well and looks the same?
watch is a status symbol, for poor people it is also for utility, there is no point wearing real luxury watch if you are a poorfag and cant really afford one, same applies to richfags, rich dont wear cheap replicas even though they might perform just as well, they wear legit luxury watches because it shows their status to others (and to reaffirms it to themselves)
Don't think replicas are built up to the same standards, and besides, this is something I would buy only if I really had enough money to do it. People won't be able to tell I'm rich just by my looks, dress, and name, so I'd go for something small to prop myself up, you know.
Grand Seiko is literally like buying a Lexus instead of a Benz. If you're poor, just don't buy a watch at all.
I'm actually not against replica watches if you just want to have some fun. Kinda like how I'm not against Sanjey's vision as long as you don't try to call it real bitcoin. Thing is even a good replica will NOT stand up to close scrutiny. As mad as it sounds, in the watch world you get some approximation of what you pay for. Even a $500 Seiko, a fine watch to be sure, is obviously lower quality that a $1000 Hamilton which is obviously lower quality that $2000 Oris which might be almost, but not quite as nice as an entry level Rolex. Lot of knock off Rolex out there, but they aren't going to be guaranteed to run within +2/-2 seconds a day for five years or you can send it in and have it serviced for free. They will probably run like shit DESU, may or may not be water proof, and may or may not be able to be serviced when it shits the bed entirely. Or maybe you get a really great knockoff. It will still be annoying to either a) explaining why you own a fake Rolex to anyone who asks about it. b) Lie about it, feel retarded for it, and risk being caught in the lie by almost anyone who is really into watches. Better to just get a homage watch that looks somewhat but not exactly like an icon, but doesn't pretend to BE it.
If you aren't into watches and don't understand how a Patek offers something more than your iwatch, rock the iwatch. Watches are almost a sickness. You either have it, or you don't. But when you have it, you get it.
Thing about Rolex vs Grand Seiko that is worth noting since this is Jow Forums; The Grand Seiko is going to depreciate like a motherfucker, be sure to buy pre-owned to avoid the worst of it. Buy a used Rolex and you will generally never lose money, you are just parking it in a watch for a while. On a longer timeline they will either keep pace with inflation or, in some cases, exceed it. Rolex is the luxury watch for the man who doesn't want to lose value. Another reason to look down on the brand for some. The whole excuse to buy it for others.
This is what watches are to people who aren't really into watches. Which, to be fair, is the largest category of watch owners.
>This is what [insert some consumer product X] are to people who aren't really into [insert some consumer product X]
>Which, to be fair, is the largest category of [insert some consumer product X] owners.
Are you into any [consumer goods] at all user? Do you like nice cars? Or nice clothes? Or will you dress in whatever and take mass transit even if you have money for other options? I'm really not sure what you are trying to get across with this post.
This is my dream watch, it accurately depicts the orbit of most of the planets in the solar system
Kepler would like to have a word with you
I will use money to make my life comfortable, if that involves buying expensive cars and clothes then yes, but ultimately I dont care about consumer products beyond that
I've been wearing a $20 black plastic Casio for the last 6 years, I'll probably wear it til I'm dead.
Love the op, I have one with white explorer dial
Well you are you. But I can assure you things like a porsche to a car nerd, brand[x] to a fashion nerd, or a Audemars Piguet to a watch nerd is a lot more that a status symbol. In fact that aspect of a product might well be an annoyance to them, not the 'purpose' of them.
So hard to chose a dial color. Love the white also.
already have an apple watch and it's all I need
implies I'm rich even when I'm not and it's actually functional as a watch, fitness device, navigation, etc
maybe a rolex one day
[x] Doubt
>Which only leaves the fashion element, which is gay
A mechanical watch is more useful than that.
WHO IS THE DUMBASS THAT KEEPS POSTING WATCH THREADS? ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS, I SEE THIS SHIT THREAD DAILY. BTW I HAVE A GALAXY WATCH AND THE ONLY REASON I DIDNT SELL IT, IS BECAUSE A FAMILY MEMBER GAVE IT TO ME AS A GIFT. BTW YOU HAVE TO EITHER STAY CONNECTED TO YOUR PHONE VIA BLUETOOTH OR PAY AN EXTRA 10-15 A MONTH TO BE ABLE TO RECEIVE PHONE CALLS AND TEXTS BEING AWAY FROM YOUR PHONE.FUCK YOU AND FUCK THIS THREAD.
Rolex are going to lose money in the long run when people wise up to just how much are on the market. Rolex produces 1 million watches a year, most of them rolexes. Grand Seikos produce less than 40,000 watches annually and the total amount produced since its debut in 1960 is less than 2 million watched while there has been 45 million + rolexes ever made.
You buy a Grand Seiko to impress yourself and a Rolex to impress others. With that being said people that prefer Grand seiko to Rolex are people that are better, kinder, wiser, smarter, sexier, and independent than those opposite.
>You buy a Grand Seiko to impress yourself and a Rolex to impress others.
I'll grant that GS-wearers are antisocial, libertarian narcissists. I always scan the area for cover when I see a GS kid reach into his backpack.
My choice
Patek Phillipe are beautiful watches but you could never wear something like that in public. There's too much risk of getting robbed.
I like this one
No you brainlet retard. Its like buying benz instead of fiat with SWISS MADE tag and then dumping some money down the shitter.
GS are just flat out better watches, better made, look better, last longer, cheaper to service, more exclusive. There is not a single downside to buying GS instead of lolex, other than impressing poorfags, niggers and thots, which is apparently your sad dream of "making it".
Either way you will never have any of those watches because you sound and act like 70iq nigger.
You will lose more money on servicing rolex than you will on buying GS. This shit is expensive.
Buy 9f quartz GS with that sweet +/-10s per year accuracy and just have fun with actual end game watch that will last forever.
I bet you got your rocks off upon hearing about the Area 731 atrocities, you Jap-loving little rat. I dare you to come up to me in real life with your quasi-quartz shitter, and I guarantee I'll turn your jawbone into the attention-catcher your homo boys' watch never was.
I have no clue what you are talking about Tyrone, but first you have to leave your room.
Also 9f is not quasi quartz, its just quartz you moron. You are thinking about spring drive.
This guy gets it
People like you will never learn until you're dragged tied to a flatbed for a couple of blocks. Don't set your foot in Duluth, all I'm saying.
real nibba shib
Much like niggers like you will never learn that if you can buy better thing cheaper, you should do it. Instead you get brainwashed into being brand slave and following whatever trend mr shekelberg sets for you.
Literally never going to make it.
.
Newfag GTFO RRREEEEEEEEEEEEE
Already made it.
Use your fucking phone if you need to know the time. The product Seiko's selling is literally losing your initial investment instantly and having people think you're poor. Gee, Seiko; I might take you up on that. On top of that, the guys who run the whole operation have slits for eyes.
They’re releasing new Seiko 5’s this fall with a better movement and base cost has increased.
Grand Seikos are patrician tier you pleb and all watch connisserus respect them for their history and quality. Only poorfags that have no clue about watches and obsessed with impressing others think they’re shit. My first luxury watch will be a Grand Seiko and I plan on building a collection because of their general low production and rarity. Less than 2 million were ever made and less than 40,000 are made every year. Rolexes are only expensive because of marketing and retarded mouth breathers putting them up on a pedestal. Millions of rolexes are in circulation right now and several hundred thousand ar Meade very year. They’re worthless, except for the precious metals rolexes.
>Use your fucking phone if you need to know the time.
No.
>The product Seiko's selling is literally losing your initial investment instantly
No.
>and having people think
First of all Jamal, I actually dont give a shit what people think about me. Its about me liking my watch not people liking it. Second of all, Jamal, people literally dont give a single fuck about watches nowdays. If you want to impress thots then just get a rolex replica as someone here said, it can even be quartz and no one will know its not a real thing. How fucking sad your life must be if your idea of making it is impressing thots with shitty rolex.
Soumds oike marketing to me. Like what is the improvement supposed to be? I dont think it will be hacking and hand wind, if anything they will add some shitty jewel and call it improvement. There is no need to improve seiko 5 movement in first place, it already functions well as beater automatic for cheap, and its basically service free for ages.
No they have hacking and hand wind and the base cost is $250 USD as opposed to the last gen being $150 USD. I always tell everyone that if you can’t afford a $1000 dollar plus watch then get a seiko because they’re reliable.
Thinking of contacting the FBI, honestly.
Yes, you tried the Dungeons and Dragons: didn't get you laid.
Yes, you tried the Seiko: didn't get you laid.
What's next, you'll take the law into your own hands because the real world doesn't pay attention to your narcissistic rage and the watch it's channeled through? You want to torture other people like the ethnic group that built Seiko loves to do? Seek help.
Interesting, never expected seiko 5 to hack.
Are you brain damaged? You were multiple times explained why you are a retard in logical way and each time you respond with some unrelated gibberish.
Do you get paid shilling for rolex? Are you a pajeet? Do you think your 3 rupees per shill will allow you to buy rolex?
You are quite obviously biased against non-swiss watches because thats what your lords told you to think, this is not a place for your kind. If you cant think for yourself, go away.
And get a job you fucking leech.
